Registrations of new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have fallen heavily for the fourth month in a row as buyers remain unconvinced they should buy one.
Last month the number of BEVs registered was only 1,044 - a deep dive of 39.1pc on the 1,715 registrations in May 2023 - at a time when it was expected that buying would be surging.
