A dead mouse in strawberries, worms in frozen dumplings, plastic inside a pepper and a shard of glass inside a loaf of bread were just some of the 7,732 food complaints made in Ireland last year.

The complaints were handled by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland’s (FSAI) Advice Line in 2023.
