“Something happens, and you have to move on to the next thing,” Rhasidat Adeleke said with a laugh. “You’re literally just immediately moving on. When it’s over — that’s when you can kind of reflect a bit.”

“Over” for someone who turns 21 on Tuesday and is visibly hitting an athletic peak isn’t going to be for a long time yet. But it’s a mentality that undoubtedly serves her and was in evidence last Wednesday in Budapest, where the Dubliner came in fourth, half-a-second off a medal, in the world championship 400 metres final.
