How the Irish culinary desert has now been lit up by a constellation of Michelin stars

Though it’s not so many years since Ireland was perceived as a culinary desert, that reputation is now firmly consigned to history.

It was announced yesterday we have two new restaurants on the prestigious two-star list. Damien Grey’s Liath and Chapter One by Mickael Viljanen join Aimsir in Celbridge, Co Kildare, and Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud in Dublin. Meanwhile there are two new one-star restaurants in Bastible and Glover’s Alley, both Dublin.
