The recent appointments of the BBC’s Steve Carson and Newstalk’s Patricia Monahan to RTÉ’s leadership team are expected to pave the way for a major shake-up at the broadcaster, according to sources.
Several insiders at the station say big scheduling changes in television and radio as well as staff cuts are on the cards when the two new arrivals take up their roles this autumn.
