Fluctuation in spending on the new national children’s hospital – which has most recently been costed at €2.2bn – could potentially derail some of the progress on other capital projects in the health service, a HSE report has warned.

It is listed as one of the challenges set out in the HSE’s capital plan for 2024, which outlines how it will spread more than €1.16bn in construction funding.
