Dublin Airport to offer incentives to airlines to use Cork instead over planning ‘cap’ on passenger numbers

DUBLIN Airport is to offer airlines a record incentive package to transfer aircraft to Cork Airport for the short term because of the 'cap' imposed by planning regulations on passenger numbers in the capital.

Dublin Airport Authority chief executive Kenny Jacobs said Cork Airport will play an increasingly important role within the DAA structure - and he revealed the DAA was now offering the most generous incentive package in its history for airlines who cannot secure the slots they want in Dublin to operate aircraft instead from Cork Airport.
