A supermarket food price war looks set to benefit struggling families making Christmas dinner in the shadow of the cost-of-living crisis.

Prices on seasonal dinner ingredients such as turkey, ham, and a range of vegetables are being cut by many of the larger supermarket chains keen to entice people in their doors. In the final run-up to Christmas, many are matching each other’s prices.
