Tillage farmers are being advised to take every chance to drill winter crops or a significant shortfall in spring seed is predicted.

The warning comes as high rainfall levels have prevented fieldwork across the tillage sector this autumn, with some areas already receiving their average annual rainfall with two months left in the year.
