An appeal against the refused planning permission for a 214ac solar farm in Westmeath has failed.

Planning permission for the project, which is located on the land of prominent sheep farmer and Farming Independent columnist John Fagan and his family in Gartlandstown, Crookedwood, Westmeath, was initially refused in August 2023.
