Irish exporters can no longer use UK as landbridge from July 22
EU animal welfare proposals would call into question the economic viability of the live export industry, the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee has warned senior EU officials.
It comes as the Department of Agriculture confirmed that the UK’s decision to ban live exports means that no livestock can be taken from Ireland through Britain to mainland Europe for slaughter.
