Land sales review: Smaller farms and tight supplies in South Leinster as a third of sales break €20,000/ac
Agents have lists of customers for farms of all sizes
Cromogue House on 200ac at Bunclody, Co Wexford was the largest farm to sell in South Leinster and made the highest farm price in the country at €4.66m.
South Leinster continues to provide some of Ireland’s strongest land prices and in 2023 saw the highest per-acre price paid for farmland in the country when a 20.5ac tillage farm on the outskirts of Tullow made €46,829/ac.
Across the region a total of 2,075ac of farmland was sold in 2023 — down 22pc on the previous year. The money generated came to €35.42m, a fall of 16pc.
