Land sales review: More than half of Munster farms make over €1m

At an average of €17,377/ac Munster has the most expensive farmland sold at auction in 2023

The health of the Munster land market is clear to be seen in the number of million-euro farms sold: more than 50pc of the farms dispatched under the hammer in the south-west auctions made over €1m.

Munster farmland is the most expensive in Ireland, according to our survey. At €17,377/ac the average price represents a marked increase on last year, when farmland that included residences made €16,192/ac — this year’s price is based on non-residential land sales only.
