Average land price up 5pc with Munster land in the driving seat
Munster auctioneers had a particularly good year achieving between €11,000 to €17,800/ac for grazing land.
The average price per acre paid for grazing land in 2023 came to €12,840/ac, an increase of 5pc on the previous year and a substantial increase of 24pc on 2021, according to the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Values (IPAV).
The annual IPAV farm report found the most expensive land in the country in 2023 was in Munster where the price paid for grazing land averaged €16,325/ac compared to €14,563/ac in Leinster, €11,000/ac in Ulster and €9,500/ac in Connacht.
