An 85ac residential farm at Clohastia, Co Carlow in the Barrow Valley between Graiguenamanagh and Borris sold at auction for €1.12m or €13,000/ac

The townland name comes from a local castle Clohastia, built by the Normans to control traffic on the river and crossing the river. It also said to have belonged to the O’Ryans of Idrone, the local Gaelic chieftains.
