Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, Storm Kathleen rolls in. “I’m lucky I have flat land, because if it was on any kind of slope, it would have all flowed away by now,” I heard one farmer say as he sheltered from the rain at the door of our veterinary practice.

“They’re looking for soil samples to be brought into Teagasc,” another farmer retorted, “but I think I’ll have to bring mine into them in a bucket.”
