Dairygold is calling on the Government to seek a four-year delay to any decision on the Nitrates Derogation to allow time for the impact of sustainability measures on water quality be seen.

Speaking at the co-ops annual results Dairygold Chairman Seán O’Brien said a further reduction to the Nitrates Derogation would "significantly curtail milk production and would impact the viability of the entire industry" and that any decision should not happen before December 31, 2029.
