Francis Brennan has many strings to his bow – he’s a former hotelier, a TV presenter, has written eight books and even has his own eponymous homewares collection at Dunnes Stores.

The 70-year-old, who was raised in south Dublin, acquired the Park Hotel Kenmare in 1986 and ran it with his brother John. Last year, the brothers and an investor sold the Park and also The Lansdowne Hotel in Kenmare.
