Irish holidaymakers travelling to hotspots affected by climate- change-induced extreme weather events – such as wildfires, heatwaves and flash floods – may soon find their trips are uninsurable.

The frequency and intensity of disasters have increased exponentially in many southern European destinations popular with Irish holidaymakers, as the continent warms at twice the global average.
