'Brutal' England fans slammed for cruel 'Dusseldwarf' chant at woman with dwarfism
A group of England supporters have been slammed for singing a cruel chant about a woman with dwarfism in Dusseldorf before the Three Lions' win over Switzerland

A group of 'brutal' England football fans have been called out for chanting about a woman with dwarfism during the Three Lions' thrilling encounter with Switzerland at Euro 2024.
After snatching victory in a nail-biting penalty shootout against the Swiss team in Dusseldorf on Saturday attention was turned to a group of English supporters outside a local bar ahead of the match. They were witnessed mocking the German lady with dwarfism by chanting, "Dusseldwarf, Dusseldwarf, Dusseldwarfffff."
Despite the awkwardness of the situation, the woman managed a smile and even joined in with the fans when one beckoned her to dance.
Yet, viewers on What's The Jam criticised the disrespectful chanters. Craig Whybrow deemed the behaviour as: "Brutal."
And Carl, sarcastically called these fans "tough.", reports the Mirror.

However, not everyone disapproved of the chant, with some labelling it as just "banter". According to Liam Craven: "England fans don't miss with chants."
Leanne chimed in, stating: "English banter is unmatched."
After the 1-1 full-time result, England triumphed over the Swiss 5-3 in the penalties, securing their place in the quarterfinal. Gareth Southgate's squad will be up against Netherlands on Wednesday, July 10.

Starting from Monday, a wave of England fans are expected to descend into the city by all means of transport in hopes of supporting the Three Lions in their semi-final showdown in Euro 2024.
England are set to face Holland in Dortmund come Wednesday for a spot in the final in Berlin on Sunday. This comes after the sensational victory against Switzerland by a penalty shoot-out on Saturday, enticing many fans to take time off work for the midweek game.

Julia Preston, a part-time civil servant from Sheffield aged 57, travelled to Germany with her retired husband David, 59, since the tournament kicked off. Originally their travel plans were only till England reached the quarter finals.
But now things have changed and they've decided to extend their stay. Julia jovially said: "I'll just say 'I need another week off'. But my boss is really good and she'll just say 'I thought you might! ' " She then went ahead and revealed excitedly: "We've booked rooms in Berlin. We can cancel them but let's hope we don't have to! ".
