Kelsey Grammer's daughter Spencer Grammer revealed that her stepfather, Dr. Bill Skinner, has passed away this week.
The actress, 40, penned a touching tribute to Dr. Bill on Instagram, calling him 'the man I consider as my father' and sharing 'he has been there for me my whole life.'
The Greek star shared that even though Dr. Bill and her mother Doreen Alderman split, he remained in her life. 'He was there. I always got to be his kid,' she wrote.
The mom-of-one also posted a heartwarming photo of the two of them and her son, Emmett, smiling as they enjoyed a dinner together.
'I've never been very open about my private life. But the man I consider as my father and the man who taught me unconditional love is a man by the name of Dr. Bill Skinner,' she wrote in a lengthy caption underneath the photo.

'I've known him since I was 5 years old and when he married my mom he signed up to be my Dad too,' she continued.
'Even though he and my mom went their separate ways, he still showed up as my Dad. He has been there for me my whole life… no matter what I needed. He was there. I always got to be his kid.'
'He always gave me a hug, always listened, always believed in me, and always supported me.'
The Los Angeles native then went on to reveal that Dr. Bill had passed away, writing, 'He left us this week and our hearts are broken.'
'I wanted to spend so many more years with him. This picture is one of the last we took together. I always forget to take pictures when I'm with the people I love. A part of me is missing now. Truly deeply missing.'
'For those friends who were lucky enough to have known him or have met him, you know the kindness and generosity he spread and how much he meant to me.'
'It's a constant reminder to always make time. We lost him too soon.'

She wrapped up the heartfelt caption writing, 'RIP Dad… Bill… Dr. Skinner. I know I wasn’t always the best daughter but you loved me no matter what. I miss you so much and I’ll always love you. Thank you for being in my life, I’m beyond grateful to have known you. I’ll miss you so much.'

He shares son Jude, 19, and Mason, 22, with ex-wife Camille Grammer. He is also dad to actress Greer Grammer, 32, with Barrie Buckner.

At the time the actor also told People he was trying to 'iron out' some issues with his older children.
'I'm trying to iron it out now. Trying to sort them out,' he explained regarding some unspecified 'failings' in his relationships with some of his kids.
Spencer is known for using her vocal talents as Summer Smith in highly-popular animated series Rick And Morty.
She also starred as the female lead in ABC Family series Greek for all four seasons from 2007 to 2011.
