Sharon Stone AGAIN supports Kevin Spacey and says there's 'so much hatred' toward him because he's accused of 'man-on-man' sexual misconduct

Sharon Stone is seemingly sharing her support for the disgraced actor Kevin Spacey — again.

The 66-year-old actress — who was sued in May for allegedly causing a car crash — stood up for the 64-year-old LA Confidential star and attributed his cancellation and lost work opportunities to homophobia in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Stone opined that part of the reason Spacey had suffered more severe consequences than other men accused of sexual misconduct was because he was accused of 'man-on-man' sexual assault.

Following an initial burst of allegations of sexual misconduct in 2017 — all of which Spacey has denied — he was fired from the final season of Netflix's House Of Cards and had his planned Gore Vidal biopic for the streamer canceled, and his already-filmed role in Ridley Scott's All The Money In The World was reshot with Christopher Plummer taking over his part. 

The Casino actress previously appeared to defend Spacey in May in a statement to The Telegraph. Liam Neeson, F. Murray Abraham and Stephen Fry also shared statements in support of Spacey, following the release of the Channel 4 docuseries Spacey Unmasked, which featured allegations of sexual misconduct from 10 men against Spacey.

At the time, Stone called Spacey a 'genius' and expressed home that he would be working on Hollywood productions again.

She also appeared to blame the men leveling allegations against Spacey while accusing them of having 'secret agendas' and 'using' the disgraced actor.

In her new interview, Stone admitted that 'people are mad at me' for pointing a finger at Spacey's accusers.

Stone suffered a devastating stroke in 2001, and she said her experience of mostly being out of the film industry for the next seven years helped her to empathize with Spacey's plight.

'I said that after being in therapy for seven years, not being allowed to work, losing his home, losing everything, he should be allowed to come back. He’s reached out to everybody he’s offended and said he’s sorry,' she explained.

Shockingly, the Oscar nominee didn't appear to disbelieve the accusations against Spacey. 

'Kevin grabbed people by their genitals,' she continued. 'Many people.'

But she said those alleged crimes received outsize publicity despite no one publicly accusing him of having 'raped them or forced them into a sexual encounter.'

Stone thought that the level of 'hatred' directed toward the Usual Suspects actor was because he was accused of 'man-on-man' offenses.

She said Spacey was cast out of Hollywood because 'he offended men,' but she later told Entertainment Weekly that she wasn't defending Spacey; he's pictured with Piers Morgan from a recent interview

'That’s why he’s not allowed to come back. Because he offended men,' she claimed.

She even suggested that Spacey's conduct was a step above other powerful men who had sexually assaulted her.

'Can I tell you how many men have grabbed my genitals [without consent] in my lifetime? A lot more than Kevin Spacey has grabbed men’s genitals,' she claimed. 'And none of them has ever apologized to me.'

After she was asked if her falling afoul of the public made her more likely to forgive Spacey, Stone said she had been 'canceled left and right.'

'But now I’m back in fashion again. All the things that I said and did in the ’90s that were so outrageous are now in fashion,' she said, calling herself a 'dark horse.' 

But in a subsequent statement to Entertainment Weekly, the Basic Instinct star said that she 'did not defend [Spacey] and I am not defending him.'

Instead, she characterized the crimes he has been accused of as 'compulsive behavior.'

'When someone does seven years of recovery from any compulsive behavior whether it is drugs, alcohol or sexual addiction and then takes responsibility for it, in our business we allow them to come back to work with their sponsor,' Stone said. 'This is the only case I have seen where that has not been the case.

'My observation is that this is because it is a man-on-man sex crime,' she explained.

Stone concluded by urging the public to find a 'middle line' in how it responds to sexual offenses, as 'we have not been responsible at all for men-on-women sex crimes...'

Spacey has not been convicted in a court of law for any of the allegations. Last year, a jury in London found him not guilty of all charges after he was accused of sexually assaulting four men in the UK. 

Prior to that, he was found not liable in a civil suit from 2022 in which the Rent actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of molesting him when he was only 14 and Spacey was 26. Rapp was ordered to pay Spacey's legal bills as part of the judgment. 

However, Spacey isn't out of the woods, as he is currently being sued by one of the men whom he was acquitted of sexually assaulting. The burden of proof in a civil case is considerably lower than in a criminal case, but Spacey continues to deny the allegations.

He almost lost the case after the man accusing him won a default judgment when Spacey failed to respond to the lawsuit in time, but a judge subsequently reversed it after determining that it was Spacey's lawyers who had failed to respond in time.
