America's Got Talent: Howie Mandel hits Golden Buzzer for 14-year-old Alabama singer Reid Wilson

Howie Mandel hit his Golden Buzzer for teenage singer Reid Wilson and brought him to tears on Tuesday's two-hour episode of auditions on America's Got Talent on NBC.

Reid, 14, from Alabama, belted out Lesley Gore's hit song 'You Don't Own Me.' Immediately after he started, both the judges and the audience were blown away by his voice, and when he finished, they gave him a standing ovation.

'Well, Reid, we weren't expecting that,' Simon Cowell, 64, said.

'I think you are absolutely incredible,' Heidi Klum, 50, said.

Reid said he was inspired by Aretha Franklin and Howie, 68, told him that he was surprised by his voice.

'I was bowled over because I was surprised,' Howie said. 'I got surprised. First of all, you're just a 14-year-old kid from Alabama. So I would imagine, I put myself in your position. You were very nervous, and you did come off incredibly nervous. That was a surprise. You know what? That stage is where dreams come true. Do you believe in dreams?'

'I do, yes,' Reid said.

'Well, one of them is about to come true!' Howie said.

Howie got up and hit his Golden Buzzer, and Reid started crying as the golden confetti fell down around him. His mother rushed to the stage to hug him. Howie told him he was a big talent and Reid asked if he could hug him and Howie obliged.

Full Steel Combat from Texas opened the show. Two of the members dressed in full knights' outfits hit each other with axes, but the audience quickly booed them. Simon and Howie both hit their buzzers.

'I genuinely have nothing to say,' Simon said.

Next, Super Silva Jr., 32, a trapeze artist from Brazil, took the stage. He said his act was very dangerous and then climbed a rope to the top of the stage. He hung from a trapeze and then appeared to almost fall. He even walked upside down held only by his feet. The audience gave him a standing ovation.

'Silva, this was so scary, so exciting,' Sofia Vergara, 52, said. 'There was not one second we were not enjoying or dreading. It was amazing.'

Alex Sampson, 20, a singer from Atikokan, Canada, performed an original song he wrote called 'Pretty Baby.' Simon snapped along as he sang.

'Alex, that was beautiful,' Sofia said. 'I think it was a great audition.'

'For me, this song could have been written in the '50s or '60s, which I thought was really smart, actually,' Simon said. 'It's the kind of song you would hear in a Martin Scorsese movie, you know, in that era. It was very authentic. It was very different.'

Three of the judges voted against her, but Simon said he would have given her a yes.

Ada Flippa, 23, from Finland, ran across the stage with a hobby horse on a stick and then jumped across hurdles on the stage. She ended up knocking some down.

'I've never seen a pretty girl like you doing this nonsense,' Sofia said.

'I think you've done something we've never seen before; however, I'm going to have to say no,' Simon said.

The judges didn't vote her on.

Tyler Burke, a danger archery stunt performer from California, went next. He started by lighting a whip on fire. Heidi hid behind the desk. He then threw a ring in the air and tried to shoot an arrow through it, but missed. He used his whip to shoot an arrow and then caught it in his hand.

Howie said he would give him his third yes if he tossed the ring and was able to shoot his arrow through it, but he missed for a third time after Simon gave him a second chance and did not advance.

The final act of the episode was Taro and his son Subasa from Japan. Taro took off his sweatsuit and stripped down to a speedo. He had his son spray him with oil and then put a giant balloon on his head and then somehow over his whole body. The balloon popped, and Terry brought out another.

'What is happening?' Sofia said.

Simon hit his buzzer as Taro searched backstage for another balloon after his replacement balloon also popped. He rushed to the stage and blew up the last balloon and somehow put the balloon over his whole body and then jumped on little ladders in the balloon with only his head poking out. The audience cheered for him when he finished.

'It was funny, it was creative, it was unbelievable,' Sofia said. 'We had the best time watching you guys do whatever that was.'

'Honestly, it was really, really entertaining,' Heidi said.
