Tottenham ready for £40m Archie Gray deal, Chelsea agree £30m Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall fee and Newcastle and Villa moving: 'Unofficial deadline day' sparks big transfers to satisfy PSR rules

  • Clubs are doing plenty of deals on football's 'unofficial deadline day'
  • They are desperate to make sure they stay on the right side of PSR rules

Tottenham have entered talks to sign Leeds United's Archie Gray after Brentford's £35million offer was rejected.

Gray had travelled to undergo his Brentford medical but the deal fell through over payment structure.

The proposed move caused outcry from Leeds supporters disgruntled at the deal their club were willing to accept for the 18-year-old.

Gray would prefer a move to Spurs and talks are ongoing.

Leeds maintained they did not need to sell by midnight last night for profit and sustainability rules (PSR) after offloading Marc Roca to Real Betis and Charle Cresswell to Toulouse but they have to trim their budget ahead of next season. Rennes want Glen Kamara also.
