Marcus Rashford has reportedly made his plans for the future clear after being linked with a move away from Man United

Coming off the back of his most prolific season to date at club level in 2022-23, Rashford failed to maintain his goalscoring form in the recent campaign.

Across 43 appearances in all competitions, the 26-year-old managed just eight goals, with reports of his behaviour off the pitch only further damaging his reputation at the club.

Reports towards the end of the season claimed PSG had earmarked Rashford as a potential replacement for their departing talisman Kylian Mbappe, having previously made attempts to sign the England international.

However, Rashford is said to be determined to stay at Old Trafford this summer and acknowledged that his performances fell below par in Erik ten Hag's second season at the club.

'Marcus knows one thing with Ten Hag and that is that he really rates him,' a source close to the player told The Sun.

'He knows he’s underperformed big time but has been telling his friends that he’s coming back strong next season.

'He knows a new manager could have come in and got rid of him. He doesn’t want to go anywhere and wants to get back to his best.'

Rashford's poor club form last season also saw him left out of Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024.

The decision marked the first time Rashford had missed a major tournament for the Three Lions in his senior career, having featured in Roy Hodgson's squad at the 2016 Euros in France aged just 18.

The source added that the omission from Southgate's provisional squad came as a surprise to the United star.

'Marcus knew his position within Gareth’s Euros squad was at risk as he has struggled this season, but he was really shocked to not even make the 33. He thought he had enough credit in the bank.'

England have so far failed to live up to their pre-tournament billing in Germany despite currently sitting top of Group C.
