He's taken on gritty dramas, baking shows, documentaries, soaps and gameshows - but there is one programme Danny Dyer swears he will never appear on.

The former EastEnders actor, 46, said he gets asked to appear on Strictly Come Dancing every year, but he turns it down because it's simply 'not for him'.

Speaking to The Sun, the TV star revealed the reason why he would never agree to be on the beloved BBC show.

In true Danny fashion, he told the newspaper: 'I get offered to do Strictly every year, and it's not for me. I've got no desire to be mincing around in sequins.'

Although it's definitely not going to be on a show that involves any kind of dancing, the father-of-three also admitted that he is still looking for his 'ultimate' career-defining role.

He mused: 'The obvious role I'd love to play is James Bond, you know, a cockney Bond.

'Or I would like to maybe have a go at Doctor Who, something that's been played by many different actors before and put my own spin on it, my own take on it.'

In a break from his usual roles, the soap star joined Robbie Williams and a band of Beefeaters for a rousing cover of Parklife during his London gig on Saturday night.

The pop superstar, 50, was treating fans to a look back on his lengthy career during his sold-out show at American Express presents BST Hyde Park when he brought out Danny to duet on the Blur classic and take on fellow actor Phil Daniels' spoken word parts.

Robbie then invited Danny out to join him for the final Britpop track of the segment and quipped: 'It's the double act you didn't know you needed in your life.'

Most recently, Danny has starred as Freddie Jones, a self-made electronics millionaire, in the new Disney+ drama Rivals.

The upcoming adaption of Jilly Cooper's iconic novel features a star-studded cast with Aiden Turner, David Tennant, Emily Atack, Katherine Parkinson, Oliver Chris and Claire Rushbrook joining the fold.

Disney+ dropped the extravagant trailer last month - and it looks like there are plenty of racy scenes.

According to Disney+, Rivals is a 'joyously mischievous rollercoaster ride, steamy in its love stories and packed with larger-than-life characters'.

The streaming service continues that it brings a '2020s lens to the 1980s', offering a 'raw exploration of a complicated moment in British history when class, race, sex, wealth, and sexual liberation meant that, for the very privileged few, there were no limits to what they could achieve'.

Danny looked worlds away from himself as he sported a long dark wig and bushy moustache in the trailer.

The series is set to debut on Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+ in other countries later this year.
