Job Description
The Senior Feature analyst takes overall responsibility for driving requirements by working closely with the Product Owner, Solutions Architect, Designers and Business stakeholders to design and implement industry-led solutions.
Guiding and mentoring other feature analysts to deliver on business outcomes.
Serve as thought leader for technical business processes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
Supporting the Product Manager /Product Owner in management activities, including scope management, stakeholder management and timely delivery.
Prioritise and Plan work activities within the Feature Team
Creating and prioritising the product backlog that aligns with the product vision and goals, and continuously refining it based on feedback and changing business needs.
Ensure that the product backlog items are clearly defined, well understood, and properly estimated by the development team
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (i.e. developers, architects, marketers, engineers and quality engineers) to ensure that the product meets customer needs.
Driving an Agile delivery approach with the agile delivery team by working in the agile processes such as Iteration, release planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, sprint review, daily stand-ups
Provide subject matter proficiency in specific functional area(s) to the Feature team
Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in user stories in a clear manner that is understandable to the Feature team.
Creating specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the Feature team
Work with process engineers to adopt, influence and update processes
Staying up to date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernise systems.
Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
Partner with stakeholders across business units (to develop analyses and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams
Performing QA, regression and user acceptance testing and assisting quality engineers to define strategy and approaches and test case development.
Owning and driving the Definition of Done to ensure efficient development of solutions.
Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
Feature Analyst Chapter Lead
The Senior Feature Analyst could operate with a team of feature analysts directly or indirectly reporting into the Senior Feature Analyst and depends on the requirement of the team. The Senior Feature Analyst works with the Feature Analyst Practice Lead to drive the feature analyst practice
Drive the necessary change in practice and culture with the feature analysts in the team
Define and establish best practices, methodologies and standards
Contribute to the Feature Analyst learning journey
Facilitating regular practice engagement sessions to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the practice
Drive the agile methodology and culture to support the agile practice within the organization
Ensure measurement of performance are in place for the feature analysts
Sourcing and Recruitment
Support the Feature Analyst Practice Lead in sourcing and contracting of feature analysts.
Participate in the recruitment process to appoint feature analysts.
Role Requirements:
Qualification:
BA / IT qualification
ITIL accredited (Foundation level)
Experience / Skills
5-8 years of experience as a Business analyst or Systems analyst in senior / strategic role
Agile experience, with an understanding of the methodology and its principles
Solid understanding and in-depth knowledge of Business and IT capabilities
High level understanding of the architectural landscape
Strong technical knowledge and proven business and systems analysis skills at a senior level
Strategic planning
Ability to motivate and empower teams and individuals.
Experience in JIRA / Confluence / Figma / MIRO
Business Process Modelling tools
Experience in data interpretation.
Additional Qualifications/Experience (preferred, Not a Requirement)
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
SAFe certification (advantageous)
Lean Six Sigma Certification (advantageous)
Banking and Financial Services experience
Knowledge of Old Mutual products and processes (optional)
Business Analyst certificates
Identity and Access Management knowledge (Customer, Partner and workforce identities)
Good understanding of IAM governance and access provisioning
