Job Description: An exciting opportunity exists for a highly experienced Maintenance Manager specialising in high-speed packaging machines at National Brands Limited in Isando. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all site packing maintenance activities. Key Performance Areas: • Analyse breakdowns and provide recommendations to reduce downtime. • Perform general administrative activities associated with a leadership position. • Manage departmental costs in line with the budget. • Provide technical advice to the team on breakdowns and continuous improvements. • Support the implementation of the Quality Management System. • Comply with OHS Act legislation and fulfil the GMR 2 (7) appointment. • Adhere to food safety requirements and uphold AIB principles. • Drive a safety culture within the department and site, including housekeeping, PTW, LOTO, and SOPs. • Manage and develop staff and Foremen. • Review and improve existing maintenance practices. • Implement condition monitoring activities. • Generate and maintain accurate reporting. Minimum Requirements: • Experience: 15+ years of experience in Maintenance Engineering. 10+ years at a senior supervisory or management level. Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of packing machines, preferably Cartoners, Case Packers, FFS (Form, Fill, and Seal), Seaming, Shrink Wrap, and Flow-wrap machines. Experience with World Class Manufacturing implementation is an advantage. • Qualifications: Completed tertiary qualification (BTech, BEng, Trade + N6, N Dip) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Eligibility to write GCC (Completed GCC is an advantage). Additional Requirements: • Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (Shop ware, Pragma, SAP, etc.). • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Projects. • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Plant maintenance expertise.
