    Dr Tanya Hughes #WeAreSasol

Missed our recent fireside chat with Dr. Tanya Hughes, Sasol's Manager of Capacity Building? We delved into their sustainable practices and alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasising the integration of diverse responsibilities for a well-rounded approach to sustainability.    Take a look at some of the key takeaways in case you couldn't make it: ☑ Providing financial support and programs for students helps develop a pipeline of skilled professionals dedicated to innovation. ☑ Making sustainability a key strategic focus encourages mutual benefits for organisations and local communities ☑ Partnering with other institutions increases outreach by offering funding, student support, and industry experience opportunities   Let’s use these insights to enhance sustainability, spark innovation, and make a positive impact in our own organisations and communities 🌱    #SustainableGrowth #Sasol #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #SocialImpact #SustainabilityStrategies #SustainableSolutions

Corporate Affairs: Stakeholders relations and Communications practitioner Intern

It is such a privilege to be a part of the corporate affairs team at Sasol. Working on this project was heartwarming. Knowing how much of a difference this activation will make in someone’s life is fulfilling. The Energy Marketing & Sales business supports Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) interventions to raise awareness and ensure access to safe spaces for GBVF victims. To this end, Sasol Energy Marketing and Sales is partnering with youth health non-profit organisation (NGO), loveLife, to address Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) in Gauteng. This 3-year national initiative focuses on raising awareness and providing care and support to victims in communities near Sasol retails sites, starting in Gauteng in areas including Diepsloot, Alexandra, Tembisa, Honeydew, Mamelodi and Soweto.   The mobile unit will ensure access to these services in underserved and far-flung communities where nurses and counsellors are hard to come-by. Out of the 30 GBVF community hotspots in South Africa, identified by the South African Police Service (SAPS), the focus of this campaign will be in 9 communities across Gauteng & KwaZulu Natal, situated near 12 Sasol retail sites.

#WCW Today I am crushing on these two beautiful women I met on Saturday during our monthly Emba Swop Shop, what a privilege and honour to be in the midst of such calibre of women. Women who understand that it is in their power to change communities, to make difference to their families and to make the environment better. I got so much wisdom from these two women and above all it was the laugh we shared. One of them said to me “my daughter you must make sure that you join us every month because one thing I am sure is that today I am at my happy place, when I arrive home today my High Blood Pressure will be low, izoba ekahle mntwana wam” I got reminded how small things like having a moment with others can mean to them. They were laughing throughout the whole time but busy packing their waste to be measured in exchange of the grocery vouchers sponsored by Sasol The other one taught me cleanliness and taking care of myself and the community through waste collection and the other one taught me how one can get wealth and invest through waste collection. I got reminded of what the Bible said about the noble and wise woman. “She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭24‬-‭27‬ I am grateful that through our jobs we can make one to smile 😃, my team and I can make a great difference. Our employer Sasol grant us an opportunity to work with great people out there. I can’t stop thinking about the time I spent with these two ladies and the rest of women who make sure that every last Saturday of the month they que from 5am to exchange their collected waste in exchange of the grocery vouchers. #BeTheChangeYouWantToSeeInTheWorld #MandelaMonth #67Minutes #Inclusivity #WasteManagementCommunities #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #HealthandWellness

I am thrilled to announce that I have been chosen and announced as the 2024 Rising Star South Africa Judge. My life is filled with surprises, so in 2016 Sasol nominated me to participate in the awards and after the vigorous process I was selected as the finalists in 2017 Few years later I got chosen to be the judge of the awards I was once a finalist. How great is thy work ohh Lord ❤️🙌🏾. I am grateful and looking forward to be part of the journey where again great leaders within the continent and the country of SA are handpicked and enabled to grow. It is such an exciting moment for me that I will be working with the great leaders in the space and the country. Lord I am grateful 🙏 thank you Rising Star South Africa for the opportunity to be part of this. Thank you Maureen Mboshane for the support then.
