We were honoured to host our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Letlhokwa Mpedi, for the 2nd UJ Technology and Society in Africa Conference. #Africa #4IR #AI
It was an honour to be part of the 2nd University of Johannesburg Technology and Society in Africa Conference, exploring how #AI and #4IR can promote development, close the digital divide and improve quality of life. Exciting discussions on addressing potential risks and charting a path to a more equitable, sustainable and prosperous Africa. As Professor Tshilidzi Marwala (チリツィ マルワラ) wrote in his book, Heal our World, "The time is now for leaders to embrace technology and use 4IR to drive the continent out of poverty and into a better future." Let's work towards achieving the #SDGs through the lens of societal impact. #digitaltechnologies #dataprotection #africanleaders Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation (IPATC) Johannesburg Business School (JBS) The Institute for Intelligence Systems (IIS) The Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (JIAS) Centre for Data Ethics (UJ).
