The Agricultural Development Agency (AGDA) collaborated with Kagiso Trust (KT) to host a Farmer Aggregator Roundtable. The event aimed to share learnings and support to address the challenges faced by aggregators in the agricultural industry. We were inspired by today's panel. Made with Rural, and SPAR Rural Hubs are transforming smallholder agriculture. Sandile from SACTA who are investing in new farmer development and Lusanda from KET inspired with experiences on farmer development. AGDA's Blouberg case study showcased how we're putting these ideas of innovation and creativity into action, bridging gaps and building commercial farmers. Together, with Kagiso Trust we're looking forward to cultivating a more inclusive and sustainable agricultural future for South Africa. Today we held an inspiring "Youth in Agri Workshop" at Moletsane High School in Soweto. This workshop is part of our youth month theme of “cultivating the seeds of tomorrow” by engaging young minds in agricultural opportunities. The event featured a diverse program covering topics like backyard farming, selecting the right crop varieties, comprehensive farming guides, and agri-skills courses. Speakers from various organisations shared insights on partnerships, market benefits, and career paths in agriculture. This workshop reflects our commitment to empowering youth in agriculture and fostering the next generation of farmers and agri-entrepreneurs in our country.
