The Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer versions of Protect My Choices are extensions that help preserve the opt-out preferences you set on the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices consumer choice tool. Each browser extension is designed to help prevent the accidental deletion of cookies that store opt out choices in the browser.

Some Things You Should Know
Protect My Choices applies to the opt-outs available through the WebChoices tool, and which apply to interest-based advertising and other applicable uses of Web-viewing data by DAA participating companies. Once you install this extension, you will still receive online advertising from participating companies in place of interest-based advertising, and the Websites you visit may still collect information for other purposes.
As more companies join the industry self-regulatory program, their opt-outs will be added to these Protect My Choices extensions. The extensions function differently in each browser and in some cases you may be required to update the extension. Please review the information for your browser. You can confirm that your opt-outs have been set for each browser at optout.aboutads.info, and you can always check the status of your extensions by using the tools in your browser -- commonly seen as Extensions, Add-ons or Manage Add-ons under Tools in the window menu of the browser.
The program requires advertising companies to clearly inform consumers about their data collection practices and to enable consumers to exercise control over the types of interest-based ads they see. This website – WebChoices – and AppChoices both serve as central elements of the DAA program by offering consumers transparency around companies engaged in interest-basd advertising and the ability to exercise choice from participating companies through a consistent, simple user experience.
These extensions and your opt-out choices apply only in their respective browsers by device, so you should separately set your preferences for other browsers and for other devices you may use.

Protect My Choices for Chrome
The Protect My Choices extension for Chrome is available for download from the Chrome Web Store. From time to time, you will be asked to authorize updates to this extension in order to add new opt-outs.
