I'm deeply disappointed by my Mohs surgery. Words like overkill, and high prices come to mind. I had the tiniest cancer on my nose, and now I've a very noticeable scar and red hole at the tip of my nose. He pointed out how well each end of the incision healed, but the middle of the overly long incision has a big, red crater. (I wonder why it didn't heal like the ends?). Also, connected to it is a depression like a trough. It's all bumpy, strange. He mentioned in case of a depression/hole, I could get filler, laser treatments, etc. I will never allow this doctor to treat me again. I'm depressed. I can't cover it with makeup or wear certain sunscreen because it settles in the hole. My nose tip had nothing noticeable at which to stare. Now it does! I'm also pissed. I'm convinced the surgery he did was overkill, and not appropriate. My nose looks horrible.

Dr. Ron Shelton is a top-notch dermatological surgeon.

With over 30 years of experience in the field, he practiced at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia before being invited to Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York to teach. He started the MOHS and reconstructive surgery program at the hospital.
Following that, he entered private practice at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York.

I am always interested in knowing what my doctor studied as an undergraduate. Dr. Shelton majored in Biomathematics.
He is an extraordinarily intelligent, intuitive, and personable professional as well as a gifted surgeon.

Upon consultation, he took his time to carefully and fully explain his prognosis and recommended procedure.

The procedure itself came off flawlessly, and both he and I were extremely pleased with the surgery results during two follow-up sessions.

His staff, from the team of administrators out front and in the back office, to the RNs and NPs, are all consummate professionals--fast, efficient, and courteous.
The facility itself is spotless, including the reception, waiting rooms, and treatment rooms.

I would.highly recommend Dr. Shelton for consultation and any type of dermatological or reconstructive surgery.

i am 80 yesrs old and like others my age , I go to a lot of doctors offices. THERE IS NO OTHER LIKE DR. SHELTON's. They all must take "nice & friendly" pills, as it is the most pleasant and competent group of nurses, aides and the superstar Dr.Shelton. Any other medical office would do well to go to his office for an appointment if only to see how a practice should be run. His office is clearly the Babe Ruth (or maybe I should say Aaron Judge) in his field. it is a joy to write this review

Dr. Shelton is an outstanding MOHs surgeon. He has performed two small surgeries on my face with excellent outcomes. He is very easy to communicate with and cares about patient concerns. His nurses are excellent too and both are very nice. I would recommend him highly to family and friends and would go to him immediately if future problems arise. His office is very clean and comfortable too.

Dr Shelton is an exceptional physician and individual. I've seen many dermatologists over the years and he's clearly the best; a very competent and caring doctor. He is never rushed and always takes his time in explaining everything in layman's terms. He also thinks "outside the box" and is helpful in providing advice and thinking a few steps ahead. I can't say enough positive things about Dr Shelton and highly recommend him!

As a psychotherapist, writer and speaker, I am not often at a loss for words - but in this case - trying to capture the "Dr. Shelton" experience is daunting. Having the words "cancer" associated to you - to your body - is a frightening thing... and in my case... to know that the skin cancer involved my face - specifically my nose and my lip - was terrifying. I was referred to Dr. Shelton for Moh's surgery and while I knew of his reputation, what I did not know was - in a bad news situation - just how lucky I was. There is the medical piece of course - to trust that you are putting yourself in the care of someone who has the skill set to eliminate the threat of cancer - and I had little doubt that Dr. Shelton could do that. But what I did not expect - was the way he "holds this space"... he is a physician and an artist - and a wellness professional. What I mean by that is - from the moment you meet him - you are brought in as a team player on your road to wellness. You are not - simply a body - a patient... you are included in your own care... You are made to feel that you have a role to play - along with his team. And for me - that was deeply empowering. Dr. Shelton invited me to do my part in making sure I had the best outcome possible. His assumption is that we are smart, capable and can be and should be fully engaged in our own healing.

And his work... all I can say is that he had a Herculean task ahead with both my nose and my face... Other surgeons had told me that it was likely I would have some disfigurement. And yet, to see me now, you would be hard pressed to find signs of significant surgery. After both surgeries, my nose and my face, I had other doctors look at his work - and this is no exaggeration - the PA was so impressed by the suturing - it was so - elegant (was the word he used) - so intricate - that he called in three other staff members, including a doctor, to see it.

One of the Moh's surgeries was 7 and a half hours... the other 5 hours... and when you see the results you can understand why... yes of course part of that is the staging in removing the cancer... but it is the time he took closing up that made all the difference. He is an artist - a true artist. That he was able to do what needed to be done - remove the cancer - but do it with such care towards my face - was miraculous.

I am profoundly grateful that I found Dr. Shelton and his team at Laser Skin Surgery. If you, like me, receive a skin cancer diagnosis, and I know how terrifying that can be, you could not be in better hands. You simply owe it to yourself to join him in your healing journey.

I went to Dr Shelton for a cool-sculpt consultation. Dr Shelton was very professional and patient. He explained the procedure throughly to me. After assessing and determining that it was not the best procedure for me, he gave me some other suggestions. I appreciate that he put my needs ahead of earning extra fees.

Having had many Moh's procedures over the past few years I would highly recommend Dr. Shelton. He is extremely professional and cares about his patients.
He'll explain everything before, during and after surgery.
No one better in my opinion.
If I could give him 6 stars instead of 5 I certainly would.
      Thank you Dr. Shelton!

I've been coming to Dr Shelton for 10 years, starting with a minor thing but referred by a friend who'd had a serious skin cancer removed from his nose. I wouldn't trust anyone else in NYC with my face. He has perfect and conservative aesthetic judgment and is completely medically up to date. I see people on the street and even TV who have too obviously not been treated by him, and feel pity (and if they are publications figures, real wonderment).
