The heat continues Tuesday, after Monday's heat brought in a late-day storm that knocked out power for thousands in the Pittsburgh region.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued for Allegheny and Westmoreland County until 4:15 p.m.

Tuesday will be almost identical to Monday's weather with the maximum heat index in the mid to upper 90s around midday.
Another round of isolated storms will fire up after 3 p.m., bringing heavy rain and strong winds.
The severe weather threat should begin to diminish at sunset.

A heat advisory remains in effect for the rest of the week. Daytime high temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s continue through Saturday.
The region is entering a stretch of high temperatures 95 degrees and over. It has not been this hot in Pittsburgh since September 2018.

Daily record high temperatures will be challenged Thursday, Friday and Saturday (as long as those days stay dry).
The heat will begin to break down over the weekend. Showers are possible on Sunday. Temperatures will "drop" back into the 80s early next week.
