Murder suspect dies after being found unresponsive in jail

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A man charged with murder has died after being found unresponsive in the Western Regional Jail.
Tony Williamson, 35, who was incarcerated for murder charges out of Lincoln County, was found unresponsive on Thursday, July 4.
Authorities with the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirmed Williamson’s death.
The matter is under investigation by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Criminal Investigation Division and West Virginia State Police.
According to a release, the staff immediately began administering life-saving assistance.
Authorities said Williamson was discovered by staff performing a routine check.
Williamson was being charged with first-degree murder relating to the death of Marissa Brandjes.
