Tommy Hillmer

Tommy Hillmer supports the Communications team in multimedia content production and copywriting for Woodwell Climate’s social channels. He is passionate about conveying climate issues to strengthen society’s environmental ethic and motivate policy. Hillmer is thrilled to be combining his interests in environmental science and communications as an intern this summer and is looking forward to learning more about the field of science communication.

Hillmer is a rising senior at Kenyon College where he studies environmental studies and anthropology. His communications experience began in high school, when he managed social media accounts for his class year, his community service club, and his a cappella group. At Kenyon, Hillmer created an Instagram account for his chamber choir and has assisted with outreach for the Philander Chase Conservancy, where he works as an intern. He hopes to pursue a career in communication and outreach for environmental organizations like Woodwell Climate.

Outside of work, Hillmer enjoys attending and performing in musical theater productions, as well as singing in the chamber choir at Kenyon. He also enjoys biking, running, and exploring nature.
