Full Biography

Mariana Raphael is the Director General of Connecting Mexico, a firm focused on promoting investment in Mexico by providing clients with a comprehensive overview of the country, identifying opportunities, and understanding the political and regulatory risks relevant to their businesses. By doing so, companies gain the necessary understanding to develop and execute successful investment strategies.

Prior to taking this role in 2023, Mariana held different positions at Grupo Estrategia Politica (GEP), the parent company of Connecting Mexico. More recently, as Institutional Relations Director, Mariana has been responsible for building and maintaining trusting relationships with stakeholders at national and international levels. She built an international network with firms in Latin America and strengthened partnerships with US, European, and African allies.

Previous to her work at GEP, Mariana worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was part of the North American Division, overseeing political affairs. Likewise, she has worked at the World Bank and the Wilson Center.

She is a Young Associate of the Mexican Council of International Affairs (COMEXI), where she has participated in several projects related to the Mexico-United States relationship and the prosperity of the North American region.

She earned a Master's in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a BA in International Relations from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM).
