FOLLOWING MY STORY YESTERDAY ON A LOCAL HOMEOWNER WHO WAS TOLD HER INSURANCE WAS NOT BEING RENEWED AFTER THE COMPANY CHECKED OUT HER ROOF VIA SATELLITE, ATHENA HADDEN WAS TOLD BY TRAVELERS THAT HER ROOF HAD TO BE REPLACED WITHOUT ANY ON SITE INSPECTION. WELL, SHE RUSHED TO MAKE THE $30,000 IN REPAIRS. I SAID LAST NIGHT THAT INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE GETTING TOUGHER AND THEY’RE ISSUING MORE NON-RENEWALS. AND WHAT I HEARD FROM VIEWERS CERTAINLY REINFORCES THAT. STEVE WROTE THIS QUOTE AT OUR NAME TO YOUR LIST. WE LIVE ON CAPE COD AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING REGARDING OUR. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? 14 YEAR OLD ROOF? HE SAYS HIS INSURER USED I AND A SUBCONTRACTOR TO MAKE THAT DEMAND FROM SUSAN. WE LOST INSURANCE WITH TRAVELERS FOR OUR SMALL COTTAGE IN WINDHAM, NEW HAMPSHIRE. THIS WAY, SHE ADDED. THERE WAS SOME CONSOLATION TO KNOW WE’RE NOT THE ONLY ONES. MISERY LOVES COMPANY. AND FINALLY, FROM RICK, WE ALSO RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT REPLACING OUR ROOF OR RISK LOSING OUR COVERAGE. WE HAD A CERTIFIED HOME INSPECTOR LOOK AT OUR ROOF AND PROVIDE AN ASSESSMENT, WHICH WE FORWARDED ONTO THE INSURANCE, HE SAID. THE INSPECTOR DID NOT SEE ANYTHING AND THAT GOT HIM OUT OF REPLACING THE ROOF, AT LEAST FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. SO THAT MIGHT BE AN OPTION YOU COULD CONSIDER. BUT IT’S ALSO A GOOD IDEA TO SHOP AROUND.
