This is the first in our Earth Month series. Throughout the month of April, we’ll be reporting on the quest for more sustainable alternatives and some of the other most pressing and overlooked problems within the industry.

Sustainability commitments are now par for the course for fashion brands, many of whom have pledged goals like circularity and climate neutrality. However, one pressing problem is entirely absent while accounting for much of fashion’s environmental impact.
