Marc Jacobs has appointed Paul Brennan, former managing director of Farfetch-owned British luxury boutique Browns, to head up its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

It comes amid a consolidation of the US accessories and ready-to-wear brand’s European operations in the UK. In January, the company announced plans to relocate its European HQ from Paris to London this year. It opened its largest boutique outside of the US on London’s Regent Street in July — which it celebrated last week with a star-studded party during art fair Frieze. London’s Dover Street Market launched a pop-up for diffusion line Heaven by Marc Jacobs in April 2022.

Brennan, who is based in London, succeeds Paris-based executive Sacha Leonard, who was with Marc Jacobs for four years. Leonard moved to Maison Margiela as global commercial director in September, the company confirmed. Brennan joined Browns in 2017 as chief operating officer. He was promoted to MD in 2021. His CV includes stints at Yoox Net-a-Porter, Ralph Lauren, and British department store chains Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser.

Stephen Eggleston, group EVP of commercial at Farfetch, will lead Browns while it seeks a successor, the company confirmed via email. Holli Rogers will remain as chair of Browns, alongside her role as chief brand officer at Farfetch.
