Detection of improvised explosive devices: armasuisse takes part in a European Defence Agency project
Improvised explosive devices are set to be able to be detected quicker and more reliably in the future. The Federal Office for Defence Procurement armasuisse is taking part in a European Defence Agency (EDA) research project on this topic. The Deputy Chief of Armament Thomas Rothacher signed the agreement to participate in the “Improvised Explosive Device Detection – Phase II” (IEDDET II) project on 16 July 2024.
President Amherd to represent Switzerland at fourth meeting of the European Political Community
On Thursday, 18 July, President Viola Amherd will attend the fourth meeting of the European Political Community (EPC), which will take place at the historic Blenheim Palace in the market town of Woodstock in southern England. In addition to the UK and Switzerland, 45 states, the institutions of the European Union (EU) and other organisations will also attend the meeting.
