Our tri-campus Cheer-Off is the perfect way to amp up students’ spirit. Students gather at the Back Campus Fields to meet their peers and represent their U of T college and campus community.

Thousands of locals stop to watch the Tri-Campus Parade, as students from all three campuses march down major streets of downtown Toronto.

With over 300+ club attendance, including some of the largest and most technical student groups, the goal of this club fair is to allow U of T student groups to connect with incoming students.

The orientation is on September 6, 2023.

The UTSU Orientation for 2023 includes the Cheer-Off, Parade, and Clubs Fair all happening on September 6th from 10am – 4pm.

Yes, however because they are not University of Toronto students, they would not be able to be part of the Cheer-Off or Parade.

Washrooms are in the Sidney Smith Building, which is near the intersection of Willcocks Commons and St George Street. You could also look at the map on our website for more information.

All clubs are zoned in a list and will be listed on our website at https://www.utsu.ca/orientation

We have Nani’s Gelato, Me.N.U., Mustache Burger, and UTea. We offer a variety of food that we hope will satisfy the eating habits and tastes of all students.

We will be sending out eventbrite tickets and will have a UTSU staff member stationed at each food truck to scan each person’s ticket. One person will get ONE food ticket.

We have a total of 4 water trucks on St George Street. You could find the specific location on the map posted on our website https://www.utsu.ca/.

We have two UTSU booths located at both ends of the area. One is near the intersection of College St and St George St, and the other is near the intersection of Hoskin Ave and St George St. You could also find support from people who wear UTSU staff t-shirts along the street.

NO, they cannot bring their own tent.

No food being allowed for sale or distributions by clubs due to safety
and licensing issues.

The clubs could come at 12:00PM to set up onsite on September 6, 2023.

Students DO NOT NEED to do any registration. All Orientation events are free of charge and no registration is required.

Buildings will still be open during the time of Orientation, some spots that will be less crowded include Robarts Library, and we will have a decompression space set up for attendees.

The support services tents are situated at both ends of St George Street. One is close to the intersection of College St and St George St, and the other is near the junction of Sussex Ave and St George St.

The cheer-off and parade takes place between 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM. You could join whenever you want, or you could directly go to the clubs fair and get ready to enjoy the orientation activity!

There are approximately 230 clubs this year. Attendance list can be found on our website https://www.utsu.ca/orientation

Me.N.U has vegan and halal options, vegan gelato is available at Nani’s Gelato, and vegan burgers are available at Mustache Burger.

Large crowds will be present from 10am – 4pm on September 6th, please refer to the Parade Route guide and Clubs Carnival Map! First-aid will be stationed at both ends of the Clubs Carnival in red vests. There will also be water stations at various locations on St George St.

Be yourself and attend the events you can! There are also orientation events hosted by a variety of colleges on campus to participate in before and after September 6th.

Sunscreen, comfortable shoes, hat/visor, umbrella (contingent on weather), and your spirit! 

There will be large signs on both sides of the street for the Clubs Carnival with UTSU booths stationed at each end. The Clubs Fair goes from College St and St George St, until Harbord St.

At the UTSU we strive to ensure our events are accessible to everyone. We have staff on site who are trained to accommodate accessibility needs along with large signs, a directory for our Clubs Carnival, accessible access points at all our events and more. If there are concerns for accessibility, do not hesitate to contact us.

No, Orientation is optional however we highly encourage students to join as it’s a great opportunity to meet other first year students and make new friends! 

Yes, the UTSU has historically branded orientation as the Week of Welcome.
