I was skeptical.…

This was my first time using a meal prep service and i was skeptical at first. Being on a diet I was expecting the low calorie options to be as awful as what I was cooking myself. How wrong could I be!! My very first meal from the low calorie category at only just over 600 calories was absolutely delicious, so easy to cook, and so filling I couldn't even finish the portion. The meal was less calories and ten times better than any of my own attempts at diet food. Very pleased.

Good food, wines deals, affordable

Nice choice of meals

Nice choice of meals, with good quality ingredients. For someone who doesn't normally enjoy cooking, I have enjoyed cooking every meal so far and they have all been incredibly delicious

We have had one box so far so not quite…

We have had one box so far so not quite finished. However ..,,,,,,,,
The box was delivered as arranged, the food was easy to cook and tasted fantastic.
Despite only being on our first box, I am pretty sure that we will be continuing after our eight weeks trial time!

Meat and fish delivered to a vegan

I signed up to the vegan options, logged on and it was noted as keto. Changed this as well the delivery date. Went in the day after to choose some meals and it was back to keto with the old delivery date. Tried this three times and nothing saved. So we ended up with the wrong delivery date and meat and fish. Not risking again so cancelled membership, so let's see whether they actually cancel.
Rather concerned that when I rang the customer centre my phone alerted me to it being an unreliable number subject to complaints and my search engine wouldn't allow me to open a link from an email due to security reasons. So I hope I've not been duped.

Try it - you won't regret it!

Firstly the delivery is fantastic - no delays and always polite. The packaging is cleverly done and the ice bags ensure that the food doesn't spoil.
Every box of food I've received has always been very fresh and very good quality.
I have been pleasantly surprised and very pleased with Green Chef and would definitely recommend this for anyone who enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes - without having to shop yourself.

Someone from GreenChef has accessed our…

Someone from GreenChef has accessed our block and is walking around knocking on peoples doors. There is no access to public without a fob. We have an issue with parcels getting missing and the property is damaged (scratches on the mirrors/lift). Vey unethical from the company to be accessing a building without proper permissions.

Impressed by the Keto boxes…

We’ve been really impressed with the Keto Green Chef boxes to date. The portion sizes have been great - super filling and the protein has been of a high quality. We have started to recommend to our friends and family. It is good that you can swap out meals to suit your requirements, like having a higher calorie dinner as a treat meal over the weekend!

Awful delivery…

Delivery notification (from DPD) indicating food box arrived so I drove home from work to pick it up (it was the one day of summer in the UK and I didn’t want the food to go off) to find that the food box wasn’t here. Thirty mins of calling customer services and I discover the box has been delivered to the wrong address. 100% Green Chef’s fault as despite the app having my correct address and it being confirmed in every email, after it was delivered to a neighbouring village. Then I get a notification that I’ve changed my address!! Following this, 7 hours later, the delivery appears, warm food and no explanation. Not a great first experience with Green Chef and I hope it gets better.

Good variety of tasty carb conscious meals

Green Chef has become very reliable after a bit of a shaky start with different delivery companies. We love the ability to choose menus from a carb light section and to have veggie options too. The quality of the meat and vegetables is good , better than we experienced with another supplier and we find the receipes full of flavour and very easy to follow. Having 3 Green Chef meals a week somehow takes away the pressure of menu planning and food shopping on a weekly basis completely! So, tasty, good value, good variety, good dietary options and reliable delivery can only be a win win!

Poor customer service - avoid

I was excited to receive my first order but I was very disappointed by what I received and the customer service I experienced.
When I received my box items were damaged and over half of my order was missing. I struggled to contact customer service and was promised several times on different occasions that I would receive a refund for the damaged and missing goods. I received the wrong refund amount and have never been properly refunded, leaving me out of pocket for missing items. I would not recommend or use this company's services again. Mistakes happen but they did not put them right and their customer service is very poor.

So far, So good!

So far I’ve had one box from Green Chef and so far I’m impressed.

Portion sizes have been pretty spot on, one of our meals was a King Prawn dish and the prawns were massive and we definitely felt satisfied with the amount.

We did throw one packet of broccoli away as when I came to use it (3 days after delivery and we ordered 3 meals - so I felt like it should’ve still been fresh at this point!) as it was turning brown, but I had more in the fridge so could swop it….id have been annoyed if I hadn’t got anything else to use.

There seemed to be a good selection of meals, we tend to go towards the lower calories/oriental meals, and there seems to be a good variation each week of different meals! Looking forward to trying next weeks meals!

Brilliant food, easy and quick to make

Absolutely lovely food, so easy and tasty. We are vegan and there are always so many menu choices each week. We particularly love the plant based burgers they’re the best we’ve had.

I had money taken from my account…

I had money taken from my account without my consent, a order was placed on my behalf that l didn’t authorise, l contacted customer service and was supposed to be contacted by a manager who has still not returned my call. Very bad customer service.

Trying to get in touch with customer…

Trying to get in touch with customer service is impossible via Chat. I have phone phobia - I prefer email and messaging.
My box was sent elsewhere - they told me to get in touch but have not made any effort themselves.

Yum!

I love my Green Chef boxes! Good choice of recipes and simple step by step instructions. Lovely seasonings & spices to lift the dishes. I find the portions quite big so always have enough for another meal later in the week.
App makes it easy to alter chosen dishes for week and pause or change delivery dates.
Only thing I don’t like: the chilled items come in bulky non recyclable packaging and sometimes it’s one item, like garlic, that doesn’t even need chilled.

It doesn't let you delete your payment info

The website doesn't let you delete your payment information. It also doesn't let you cancel your delivery, even if you're within the timeframe.
I had to call customer service. They said they cancelled the delivery for me, they requested deletion of all my data, and that I'll receive a confirmation email between 5 to 25 days.
The email for privacy requests apparently doesn't accept requests from the UK. They didn't give me information on who to write either. I was requesting the data deletion under the GDPR Right to be Forgotten in the UK.
If I don't get that email confirmation about my data deletion, I'll report you to the ICO.

So on Monday I cancelled my…

So on Monday I cancelled my subscription, first time of ordering. Delivery due on Saturday. Received confirmation that my subscription was cancelled (as it should be 6 days before booked delivery) Today they took the money from my account so now I’m going to have to go round the houses with customer services like so many before me! Easy to see why this company gets so many bad reviews
UPDATE
So the order I cancelled six days before it was due has just arrived. So I’ve paid for a load of food I don’t want and not even great quality vegetables, spinach on the turn, lime so solid it could break a window (no juice there) can’t zest it per recipe as it’s mainly brown skin. I’ve had to block Green Chef on my credit card to ensure they stop delivering, given they acknowledged my cancellation on Monday, confirmed no more deliveries would be made, and 6 days later delivered a cancelled order.

Avoid! Beware!

If I could leave a zero star review, I would. I singed up, tries to reschedule my first box as I was away, and after 20 minutes I emailed them to cancel. A week and an half after cancelling I have a payment pending in my account! After calling them I've been told it's too late to amend the order. The order isn't due for another 4 days! It hasn't been packed or shipped! And once again my account was cancelled 10 days ago! BEWARE! stick to Gousto or Hello fresh. Not these con artists!
