Myself and my daughter stayed at Hotel Acta Splendid for one night, on our recent weekend away to Barcelona. To say we were happy with our room would be an understatement. We arrived at the airport and took a train to the hotel. Unfortunately, we had quite a long walk from the station, but this was completely our own fault. We since discovered that there were many quicker options and the hotel is very well connected. With Las Ramblas just a short 5-10 minute walk away (with train stations either end) we were situated in the perfect location and soon found our way around. I travelled with my daughter and we felt safe for the duration of our stay. We had been warned about pickpockets on las Ramblas, however, we originate from London and are used to remaining vigilant. I’m pleased to say we had no issues or felt threatened in any way. Even late at night. Back to our room... We had originally booked for 3 people, however my mum was unable to come on the trip with us. Our room was amazing! We were on the 3rd floor and had a private bathroom consisting of 2 wash basins, a bath, toilet and a bidet. It was super clean and very large and we had soap, tissues, and even shoe cleaning sponges. The bedroom area lead off a short hallway and we had 2 single beds (pushed together) in front of us, and 2 single beds across the other side of the room. We had a safe, a coffee machine and a fridge. There was also a bottle opener in the fridge and a bottle of wine left in the hallway (which we didn’t drink as were were not sure if this were free of charge.) The only downside of our room was that it had no windows opening to the outside, but this didn’t concern us for such a short stay. We slept well, and there was no noise from the street or guests/employees and woke the next morning to check out. On check out we had to pay a very small city charge - Less than €2 and asked if we could store our bags. We were both surprised to find that there was no charge for this. We were shown to a room containing lockers and were able to input our own code, to lock our bags securely. This room was then also locked. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where this service is offered freely. The staff at the hotel were lovely. Embarrassingly, neither myself or my daughter know much Spanish, but we were greeted and spoken to without any judgement. We loved Barcelona and we plan to visit again, for longer next time. Hotel Acta Splendid will definitely be our first choice of hotel when we do.

I stayed at Acta Splendid Hotel in September 2021, with some of my friends. Accommodation is located close to a metro station, at a great neighbourhood, without noise and is totally safe to walk around during the nighttime.
All of us were extremely satisfied with our room. It was super clean, aesthetically pleasing and renovated. Size of the bathroom was also amazing. In the room we had a safety box, a working space/ surface and one coffee machine.
Breakfast offered was tasty. There was a variety of salty and sweet foods. I need to mention that the lady responsible for the breakfast does a great job regarding the COVID-19 health and safety measures.
Lastly, Acta Splendid has also luggage lockers and guests of the hotel are able to store their suitcases without any charges.

We stayed at this hotel during a weekend in Barcelona. It was quite close to the city center taking only 10-15 minutes to walk. There were shops and places to eat close by. There was a variety at breakfast including pastries, fruit, veg and hot and cold drinks. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious. The only issue we had was that there was a constant knock/tap which we couldn't locate. There was also good links to the Airport. Overall it's a decent Hotel in a good location at a reasonable price.

We (3 adults) stayed at the Acta Splendid for 5 wonderful days - our first visit to Barcelona. Reserving rooms direct was easy and the reception staff always replied to any query or email very promptly which really helped with planning. Breakfast was included and was amazing, catering for all tastes - special mention for the waitress, nothing was too much trouble despite a very busy restaurant. Rooms were clean and beds made up every day, which we had not expected. Towels were changed daily (comment: for Eco benefits,we would gladly have had them changed less frequently to save water/laundry). The reception staff were extremely helpful with our queries on how to walk to places, and catch buses/trains, suggesting places to visit and places to eat - always top recommendations. The location is nice and central, making evenings out very easy to safely walk back to the hotel. It was very easy to catch the aerobus from airport to hotel and back (but you do need a mask to wear). We would recommend everything about this hotel and will not hesitate to return if we can.

We’ve just got back from our city break and are absolutely gutted to be back home! This hotel makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in. Paul was so welcoming and went above and beyond to help us with transport, directions, anything we wanted; he is an asset to the hotel. The rooms are modern and a fair size for the amount of time you spend in them, the shower was amazing and better than my one at home! For me personally, I wouldn’t have the breakfast as there is not much selection, however you are so close to shops/restaurants that you’ll never be short of places to go to. You are easily within walking distance to Plaça de Catalunya and la Rambla, as well as the gothic quarter, which we explored all by foot. There are so many restaurants, shops and beautiful architecture to see, the hop on buses are regular and allow you to see it all. On our last day, the hotel were very accommodating and have lockers to hold your luggage until your flight which was so helpful; there’s also a lovely shower so you can freshen up. Overall, we had the best experience and I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you so much, see you again!

The location is perfect, transportation is easy to anywhere in Barcelona; it takes only a 3 minute's walk to University Square. Elegant style, kind staff, clean and first-class rooms with perfect air conditioning. The hotel provides Rituals soap and shampoo! :) The restaurant is small but extremely cozy, and the tableware and cutlery are very stylish. The food and drink supply of the breakfast is excellent! Our only problem was that the breakfast starts at 7:30; for a business trip, it may be a little bit late. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

The hotel is lovely and in a good location for eating/drinking and shopping. The design of the place is lovely even the stairs and hallways are stylish. particularly lovely the lounge area next to the breakfast area. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices. The room was nice the only downside to the room I would say was there wasnt a lot of space to put your stuff just some small shelving. I would have given it 5 stars but when we arrived the lady on reception mentioned that they could get cheaper tickets for things and that you had to book to go into the sagraia familia in advance. you dont have to book in advance but of course its best too so we booked a few days later through the hotel and were surprised to be told that it costs an extra 3euros pp more to do this we booked anyway and the guy had spent time going through the booking for us.

Extremely horrible experience. Fake advertisement that all rooms have a/c. They do not, and just spew our hot air. Room was impossible to stay in. Receptionist was extremely rude and unhelpful - 'thats just the way it is' was the attitude, no sense of apology or regret. Real shame, given that the hotel is in a reasonably good area and in overall good condition. But to do fake advertisement and have rude staff is just regrettable. Was travelling with senior members of the family and some kids and everyone had a poor experience and unable to sleep. Please avoid them and it is important to let such hotels know that these levels of service is just not good enough.

Great location, convenient to Metro and many of top tourist sites. Incredible breakfast buffet. Staff was very friendly. We stayed 7 nights and would return. Air conditioning worked great, bathrooms were well equipped with towels changed every day. Beds very comfortable.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel in the superior triple room. Hotel is modern and cleaned every day. It is centrally located, near the university metro station, within walking distance.
Front desk friendly and helpful. We didn't purchase breakfast (19 euros) but there are many cafes nearby for a great, cheap breakfast.
The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the windows in our room opened up to a busy main road. It was really noisy up to at least 1 am and in the early mornings (buses, cars, people, etc).
Also the walls are a bit thin and if your neighbors are loud, or taking shower you will hear them.
Overall great stay.

dear 2017vacationermom ,
From Barcelona Sants to the hotel there is no shuttle but you have different choices to get the hotel. One by taxi , it's gonna cost you around 20€ (depends on how many luggage you carry) ohter one by subway you need to take the Line3 (green color) to Plaza España and then over ther switch the line to Line2 (red color) to plaza universidad (5 min walking distance to the hotel).
In some cities in Spain Uber is allowed, in Barcelona don't at the moment.
The hotel just get renovated in most of our rooms, a few ones remain like the old pictures. To differentiate them you will see that you can book standard room (old ones) and superior rooms ( renovated).
Kind Regards
