I recently stayed at Arenas Atiram for two days, as it was recommended by a reputed hospital in Barcelona. I booked directly through the hotel website, taking advantage of a 10% discount and the flexible cancellation policy that allowed cancellation up until 2 pm the day before with no charges. However, getting a confirmation email was a challenge. I had to call multiple times as their response time via phone was slow, but emails were answered quickly once they were finally addressed, likely due to limited staff.

Check-In Experience:
The check-in process was smooth and the reception staff were well-trained in hospitality. Special mention to the girl on the evening shift on June 22 and 23, 2024, who provided excellent service.

Room Issues:
Unfortunately, our stay was marred by several issues:

1. Air Conditioning: The room was uncomfortably hot, which we initially attributed to being in a different country and climate. However, it turned out that the air conditioning was not working. By the second day, it became unbearable. The reception informed us that there was a technical issue that couldn’t be resolved, and provided a standing fan as a temporary solution. This was inadequate given the room tariff, and such a room should not have been sold or a refund should have been offered.
2. Bathroom: There was water clogging in the bathroom wash basin, and the shower area lacked ventilation. The ventilation window required an Alan key to open, which had to be requested. This added to our discomfort during the stay.

Breakfast:
The breakfast was a positive aspect of our stay. It was good, but adding more options for non-beef and non-pork eaters, such as chicken or vegetarian dishes, would enhance the experience.

Conclusion:
Due to the air conditioning issue and the lack of continuous room availability, we decided to move to another hotel. While the staff were courteous and the breakfast was enjoyable, the overall experience was disappointing due to the room conditions. Arenas Atiram needs to address these maintenance issues and ensure rooms meet the expected standards for the price charged.

Recommendation:
I hope the hotel management will take these points into consideration to improve their service quality. Future guests should confirm the functionality of amenities before finalizing their stay.
