I needed a one-night sleepover in Hamburg close to the central location, this is why I found and chose the Arcotel Rubin. Staff courtesy and well-cleaned room is a highlight. My double-room offered a big bathroom including bathtube, Though not requested, I was lucky to get a quiet room pointing to the inner courtyard. Walk from central location just requires approx. 15 mins. The road Steindamm provides Cafe Türkis next to the hotel as breakfast alternative (only on weekdays open in the morning) and a collection of Turkish food markets and restaurants.

Located in the Turkish part of Hamburg close to Hauptbahnhof. First got a room opposite the elevators but no problem to change for another room further away. A very spacious and light room with no less than three large windows. Be aware that the underground garage is not made for cars longer than 4 m! Tight ramps and small spaces but conveniently located in the same building.

Really pleased we booked this hotel. Very friendly staff and extremely clean hotel. Well stocked bar when we returned after the day out. Hotel located in a great spot, short walk from the train station and only €10 in a taxi to centre.

The main reason for choosing ARCOTEL RUBIN, among the many hotels in Hamburg, were the opportunity to park at the hotel, and a renowned Gin Bar, I’ll get back to the bar. When we arrived at the hotel their parking garage had a clear green “Frei” sign outside, meaning please drive in, however the garage door wouldn’t open, and the machine wouldn’t give me a ticket. We went to the reception to inquire, and where told, that the garage was full, and we could park about 500 meters away at the street. Well, we were very dissatisfied with that answer, which we informed the reception in both German and English. Well, the receptionist couldn’t do anything, other than give us a call, if there should turn up a free space in their garage. We parked our car those 500 meters away and dragged our luggage back to the hotel. When we arrived at the room, we got a call, that there now was a free space in the garage. I ran back to the car, and entered the garage, it still wouldn’t open, but when I rang the reception, they remotely opened it for me. Much to my surprise I didn’t only find one free space, I found 11 unoccupied parking spots in the garage, and furthermore all of the four handicap spaces were unoccupied as well! The only explanation I can think of, that they keep these spaces free for annoying customers like me. So heads up if you choose this hotel, and there’s no parking available, give them some noise at the reception, and mysteriously there will turn empty spaces up. It must be really awful for a handicapped person to find the parking garage full, even if all Handicap spaces is unused, it is so unprofessional and rude. Well, luckily, I’ve heard of their fantastic gin bar, with more than 50 brands of gin, so I could at least get a decent Gin&Tonic to calm me down. Ha, they have about 10 gins on the menu, the first 3 we requested, were unfortunately sold out! The poor bartender had to look up every recipe for the few cocktails they carry, and the bar were totally closed on Monday. The Breakfast is decent but overpriced 22 Euro/night/Person. Don’t I have anything good to say about the hotel, oh yes, the shower has plenty of hot water 😊

I am at hotel now. Arrived Sunday afternoon - attracted by the advertising of Wellness & Fitness suite on 7th floor - overlooking city. CLOSED. Very CLOSED, I mean all the signs covered over. Obviously gone but still being advertised as an amenity. My only reason for choosing this hotel over others near to the Hauptbahnhoff. Even more annoying that it is still being described and offered on hotels website. Very disappointed. Not up to standard of prices charged. Spend your money elsewhere!

Nice hotel with lovely staff and excellent in room service and quite large rooms. Breakfast was simple but the food that should have been hot was not. Very close to the underground and a supermarket across the road. Probably not in the best of areas although we never felt unsafe.

The good - nice hotel, clean and comfortable room, quite a good location with easy access to other parts of Hamburg. Lidl close by for convenience as you had to be either wealthy or a dunce like Anthony Kelly to use the high priced but well stocked mini bar. The not so good - terrible bar service where the barman has favourites who are either friends or employees high up in the Arcotel chain. Just a nod of the head was sufficient for two chaps to get a drink and a chaser within seconds yet our party had appalling service where we had to wait upwards of half an hour at times. One of our party was waiting over an hour after arriving at the bar and eventually went off elsewhere to quench his thirst - during this time the two buddies/employees received drinks on at least five occasions. Summary - I would have given a four/five star rating if it wasnt for the lack of attentiveness from the bar staff. If you like a drink go elsewhere do not stay here because you will be thirsty. It was a shame the barman spoiled our stay. I hope he enjoyed the presents the two buddies brought for him which undoubtably contributed to the nepotism where spirits followed freely down their necks whilst us humble folk were generally ignored. Other hotel staff helpful and friendly.

I spent a few days in Hamburg and randomly selected the ARCOTEL Rubin as my "home base" for my touristy visit.
Check in was pleasant and I found the woman who welcomed me courteous and polite and pleasant - really good at what does. This got my visit off to a great start after a long train ride.
The room was okay - nothing to write home about. But I can say that it was clean, I was comfortable and I slept great. It was quiet and had blackout curtains and I slept so good. The amenities included the usuals - cable TV, mini safe, mini bar, well functioning (not loud) air conditioning...a nice size bathroom, small closet, etc. The wi-fi was included in my rate and worked well.
I checked out the rooftop view and the Wellness Center. I didn't use it myself, but it looked very inviting and other guests were taking advantage of it. There is a dry and wet sauna as well as lounge chairs for resting. There is also some random exercise equipment.
The breakfast room on the first floor is where each morning a very hearty and healthy breakfast buffet is served. This is one of the nicest breakfast buffet's that I have encountered at a hotel like this in a long time. There was even a vegan section. There were the usual selections of hot breakfast food - eggs, meats, potatoes, cold meats and cheeses, various fruits, cereals and breads and it was all well presented and served in a courteous and pleasant manner.
The locations is suitcase dragging distance from the Hauptbahnhof (central station). However, you do have to pass by quite a bustling row of produce markets and even past some sex shops along the way. But I did not feel unsafe. To me, it meets the "convenience" criteria in terms of location.
I would totally stay at this property again. I thought the service was top notch, the facilities and room were comfortable and appealing, the breakfast was a winner and the location was just fine.

After planning our European trip for 6 months, a month before our departure I was diagnosed with cancer. I have been cancelling all of the lodgings and almost all of them have been very understanding to the reason for our cancellation (certainly outside of our control) and have even sent messages. This hotel however simply stated that our room was non-refundable and our card will be charged! Well Arcotel, assuming that I am alive next year and we try our trip again your hotel will not be on the list!
