This was a great and affordable place to stay during our visit to Nice. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful and the room was perfect. We got upgraded to a suite so you could just lose yourself in the bed. Me and my partner constantly invade each-other's space when sleeping but this was not an issue here. The location is next to the Notre-Dame and between St.Nicholas' Orthodox Church and the Old Town, which makes it perfect for 15 minute walks in any direction from the hotel. Really nice places to enjoy food at 5-7 minutes from the hotel. There is parking in front of the hotel so that kept our minds at peace with our car. All-in-all a great stay, thank you!

My husband John and I had a wonderful time at Hotel Lakmi which is very central and on a main thoroughfare. It was in the perfect location for our 3 day holiday in the Cote d'Azur where we visited Nice, Monaco, Eze/Beaulieu-Sur-Mer. The hotel is within easy reach of the airport by tram at a very reasonable cost and a very enjoyable walk (about 15-20 minutes) to the bus stop (No. 100) for Monaco or Menton.

Have to thank the lovely receptionist, Ainoa gave me good update about the transportation strike on the next day for me to change my travel plan, and I manage to travel to monte carlo before the strike day. Appreciated on your great info and gave me a memorable stay.

Hotel room: The room is decent size, toiletries and towel are provided. Room is clean with a big window. The hotel is right next to the main street, will get some noise at early morning. I still will give the ranking about quality of sleep is 9/10 with the nice view of the street. I personally enjoy drink my coffee next to the window and look at the street to enjoy Nice.

We returned to the Best Western Lakmi Hotel Nice this week, where we stayed for four nights.
The hotel is very conveniently located in the centre of Nice a short walk from the nearest tram station on Line 2 (Jean Medecin) which is conveniently linked to the Airport in one direction and to the Port of Nice (Port Lympia) in the opposite direction.
The trams run about every 8 minutes. The fare from the Airport is 1 euro and books of tickets can be purchased in the arrivals area at the Airport.
The welcome at the reception at the hotel was warm and the hotel is very clean and tidy and nicely decorated throughout. We had a large corner room on the fourth floor which opened on to a wrap around balcony with a table and two chairs.
The Hotel has been redecorated since our previous visit in 2018 and the bathroom had been upgraded. The room had good facilities including efficient air conditioning, television, coffee machine, kettle, hair dryer and a room safe. The bathroom had a rainfall shower over the bath.
The first floor breakfast room was very bright and the food and service were excellent with a good selection of food on offer including some hot choices.
The Hotel has a very small lounge situated off the ground floor reception where complimentary coffee was available in the afternoon.
The reception staff were very helpful and the service provided by all the staff throughout the Hotel was very good.
We thought that the Hotel provided great value and would recommend it and will hope to return at a future date.

The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the tram line and 5-10mins walk from the main train station. It is right on the main shopping street and close to many restaurants. the cafe across the road does a fantastic Croque Monsieur.
When we arrived, the lady on reception was delightful and super helpful. While we waited to find out if our room was ready, she shared a local map with us and gave advice on where to visit locally and transport options if we went further afield.
When we got to our room, we were blown away. We were on the fourht floor and had a corner room with a balcony so we had a fantastic view of the city and could see the see. The balcony had a small table and chairs set so you could sit out with some food or drinks and enjoy the view. The room was very spacious and spotless. The bathroom was a good size with some shelves for storing our toiletry bags and cosmetics. We also loved that the room had a very helpful vanity mirror set up along with a hairdryer and hair straighteners to use.
Breakfast was in a lovely room on the first floor. There was a huge selection to choose from including, pastries, pancakes, toast, fruit, yoghurts and some hot food like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage etc. There is plenty to choose from and give you a good start to the day.

Lovely comfy clean bed, fresh towels everyday. I slept so well.
Great value for money.
Right in the centre of Nice, so can be a bit noisy with lorries and bin collections early morning.
You can walk to the sea in 15-20 mins or 15 mins to the train station where you can catch a train to the airport/Cannes/Monte Carlo etc
Do not rely on SNCF trains to get you to the airport on time! They are always cancelled or late.

Lakmi Nice is right in the centre of Nice a few yards off Avenue Jean Medecin, their main shopping street.
Rooms are traditional hotel fare, with newly refurbished ensuite shower rooms and smart interior decor.
There is a roomy and nicely decorated breakfast room on the first floor. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice of cereals, pastries, cold meats and cheeses, fruit etc etc.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming and all seemed to be fluent English speakers which is a great help.
Only downsides are there is no bar or restaurant, but being so centrally placed, there is plenty of choice within a short walk.
The sea front and its spectacular promenade is a 15 minute walk south along the main street. There are local stops on both tram lines 1 and 2. The station on line 2 (Jean Medecin) is less than 5 minutes walk away and takes you to the airport in 30 mins. Great value tram service.
We thought the Lakmi represented very good value given its central location and would stay there again.

Good location (we used the tram from airport) - staff were super nice & helpful (esp Ainoz & Guillaume, who gave us a welcome hot chocolate on arrival & informed us that we were the 'guests of the day' & had an upgrade to our room - true or not we felt special). The room was large & had everything we could need (iron, hair dryer, free wifi, tv with english language channels...), & we had 2 large balcony windows... only small neg was that decor was a little dated, but honestly this was very minor. The breakfast buffet (included) had all types of breakfast food - all good. Would def recommend.

To get to the BW Hotel Lakmi takes about 7 minutes from the main Nice-Ville railway station on foot and pulling wheeled baggage. And it's only really a matter of going down one street, turning left and voila....you are there. Very easy to find and once there it's only about 12 minutes walk down to the old town and the esplanade. Very well situated, and also with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars nearby.
Upon arrival, we were very pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal welcome we were given at reception. I can't recall ever being treated as professionally and welcomingly even at 4 and 5 star hotels. The lass at receptionist should be given an award! Cold tea and a biscuit at reception, everything explained well and all with a big smile.
The room itself was not large but perfectly adequate. Spotlessly clean and it had a balcony with a wee table and two chairs which was nice to sit at late in the evening with a cold beer. Hairdryer in the bathroom as well as another in the main bedroom and curling tongs. The usual instant coffee/tea and kettle but with the very welcome addition of a Nespresso type machine! Air-conditioning worked very well, plugs all worked, the internet wifi was fast and the bed was comfortable with sufficient pillows provided.
Breakfast was the usual sort of continental style affair with yoghurts, cereals, fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, croissants, baguette, cold ham and cheese as well as scrambled eggs, sausages and excellent back bacon. None of your cheap streaky, fatty stuff! There are also two coffee machines so no having to queue for ages on others pouring coffee. The surroundings for breakfast were also pleasant with nice decor and really amiable staff.
Check-out was very quick and again, the staff went that extra mile and offered us both a bottle of cold water for our journey which we thought was a lovely touch.
I have stayed in many 4 star hotels and even some 5, where the decor, the ambience, the attitude of the staff was not nearly on a par with those at the Best Western Hotel Lakmi! Really quite surprised that it is only graded as a 3 star hotel as impresses as being much more than that.
I realise that some previous people have commented on the lack of a bar serving alcohol and of a garden area, but if you have a balcony, there is a supermarket with beer and wine for sale just over the street and across the main road is a bar.
The big question as usual is.....would we stay here again?
The answer is.....a very definite yes, especially in view of the wonderful staff.

None of your cheap streaky, fatty stuff! There are also two coffee machines so no having to queue for ages on others pouring coffee. The surroundings for breakfast were also pleasant with nice decor and really amiable staff.
Check-out was very quick and again, the staff went that extra mile and offered us both a bottle of cold water for our journey which we thought was a lovely touch.
I have stayed in many 4 star hotels and even some 5, where the decor, the ambience, the attitude of the staff was not nearly on a par with those at the Best Western Hotel Lakmi! Really quite surprised that it is only graded as a 3 star hotel as impresses as being much more than that.
I realise that some previous people have commented on the lack of a bar serving alcohol and of a garden area, but if you have a balcony, there is a supermarket with beer and wine for sale just over the street and across the main road is a bar.
The big question as usual is.....would we stay here again?
The answer is.....a very definite yes, especially in view of the wonderful staff.

This hotel was super reasonably priced, and an excellent location- we flew in to Nice and made use of the train, and the hotel is near the tram to the airport and a stone’s throw from the train station. The monoprix across the street was super convenient, and so many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Our room was small and a bit dated, especially the bathroom, but it was clean and relatively quiet, and had a cute balcony. Reception staff were also wonderful, friendly, and helpful. Would absolutely stay again!

The beaches in Nice are pebbles, Antibes has sand which is a short train ride away
Check the timetable at trainline on their website (they covers France, but TripAdvisor won'tlet me post a link to a competitor, doh). Trains are roughly every 30 mins. Tickets can be bought at contactless vending machines at the station but allow time for queues - they were 15mins when we visited in March, or online but with a booking fee....
As per the earlier reply, the best value by far is to take the tram from outside the airport, the tram stop is right outside the doors to the left exit of terminal 2. Take the tram on Line 2 towards Town Centre/Port Lympia and get off at Jean Medecin, which is very close to the hotel.
When you emerge from Jean Medecin Station, walk straight ahead for 50 yards until you reach Avenue Jean Medecin, the main shopping street, then turn left and walk two blocks. On the right, you will see Best Western right on the corner of Avenue Jean Medecin and Rue du Marechal Foch, oppposite Monoprix.
We were quoted 45 Euros for a taxi, the tram works out at 1.5 Euros.
Worth buying a carnet of 10 tickets/rides at the machine on the platform at the airport, as the ticket price then drops to 1 Euro. It is the easiest way to get around the city.

You can get the bus 99 from either terminals of the airport all the way to the central train station. The train station is only a 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. The bus will cost you 6€ per person.
Alternatively a taxi costs around 40€ from the airport.
