É bonito, vimos a exposição do caravaggio, tinha muitas pinturas legais, como do Murillo, Rembrandt, e do próprio Caravaggio, tinha pinturas também de outros pintores, como Leonardo, mas não vimos pq não deu tempo.

What an amazing time I had at the National Gallery. Every room wowed me with art masterpieces, everything through rooms that were not too full. It was a pleasant visit from which I hold many sweet memories.

Situated just off the Trafalgar Square this national treasure is only a stone's throw away from a number of underground and train stations. Charing Cross station is a few minutes away. It's served by regular trains from Kent and Sussex, as well as by the Northern and Bakerloo London Underground lines. You can also travel on the District and Circle lines, alighting at Embankment (0.6 miles, 13 minutes walking distance away).
Although you may have to queue to get in the service is efficient and swift and it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to get in. The biggest giveaway is the free entry; yes free!!. There is so much to see, enjoy and saviour, that one needs to put aside half a day if not a whole day for this pleasure. Do not worry toilet facilities are available as are benches to sit, rest and indulge. If you are happen to be in London it would be criminal not to take this golden opportunity to enlighten oneself. Highly recommend it.

A lot of the rooms are closed right now and works have moved around. I made this list for my family so they could "hit the highlights". We are not into Medieval/religious art at all, so this avoids that whole genre. My family was very happy with the recommendations!

There was a long queue to enter this gallery, however, if you have booked a free ticket in advance, you can just walk in, apparently. Unclear why so long after the end of the Covid lockdowns this gallery still implements these preventative measures.
The queue was too long for someone suffering with backpain to wait. It also came across as hostile to treat visitors this way, so we just walked away and straight into the National Portrait Gallery, where there were no such issues. We just walked in, which is how it's always been in these national galleries/museum which are free of charge.
It was really disappointing to see such obstacles being put in the way of public access to national treasures when the public should be encouraged to engage in cultural activities and that at a time of rising prices and overall social decline. I feel that there is the need for the person at the top to change so that the public can once again have unrestricted access to what is meant to be a free gallery that promotes love for the arts.
We also visited the Natural History Museum recently and there were no such restrictions there either. There were no restrictions at the Wallace Collection about a year ago when we visited. The National Gallery stood out very negatively among all the museums we have visited lately. We hope to see a change in direction to a more open and welcoming attitude to the public.

This is a lovely gallery with fabulous paintings.
We really enjoyed our visit and exploring this lovely building.
It is definitely worth booking a free time slot in advance as you don't have to queue. There is a long queue to wait in if you haven't booked.
It was also a good place to sit outside and watch the world go past too.

Spectacular an excellent art collection is the best of London. Unforgivable not to go. It is free but better to book online

On Saturday, December 10, I had purchased tickets to enter the National Gallery. However, a staff member informed me that I would have to wait in line with everyone else, which would take more than an hour. I showed him our tickets while I was actually standing next to the sign that said "Pre-Booked tickets," but he would not move or contact his supervisor. We all eventually just walked past him because another family group was experiencing the same issue and were getting very irritated. I felt sorry for the man because, in my opinion, he was merely carrying out bad instructions and had not been given proper training on how to access the Gallery. Employee knowledge needs to improve.

The building itself is a work of art, its stunning architecture and airy spaces fostering a contemplative atmosphere. We found ourselves lingering, discussing brushstrokes and historical context, swept away by the beauty surrounding us.

Do you need to pre- book tickets for the general gallery (non exhibition) haven't been since pre pandemic when pre-booking wasnt a big thing

Hi, if I have a timed entry ticket to an exhibition which includes free Gallery entry may I visit the Gallery BEFORE I enter the exhibition? Thank you.

Make sure that you are exactly in the que for your booked time to see the exhibition you booked your slot for. They will probably not allow you to enter the gallery to see anything else inside before your booked time. Afterwards you can go and see whatever you like. The rules are very strict and annoying!

Mi scusi per il ritardo, noi eravamo in un gruppo di 11 persone e non abbiamo fatto un minuto di coda! E' gratuito l'ingresso....perciò è molto scorrevole, non è come nei musei in Italia. Vada tranquillo senza prenotare. Buona visita!!

Ciao dovrebbero essere disponibili di nuovo. Ho visitato il museo nei primi di agosto ed erano stati rimossi per una mostra.

Ciao a tutti! Visiterò Londra per la prima volta a fine settembre. Vorrei sapere, se possibile, il costo e gli orari di ingresso al National Gallery e se vi sono visite guidate in italiano. Inoltre, ci si arriva facilmente a piedi o occorre prendere i mezzi? Grazie a tutti!

A Londra i musei sono gratuiti, non è necessario prenotare, ci sono le audio guida a pagamento, metro comoda ma vale la pena girare a piedi.
