Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 is highly regarded for its prime location, with many guests praising its proximity to local attractions and the BTS sky train, which greatly facilitates exploration of Bangkok. The service, while generally efficient and friendly, has seen occasional lapses according to some visitors. Amenities like the coworking space and rooftop pool are often highlighted, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that guests enjoy, especially during festive events. Although most find the rooms to be satisfactory and the hotel's cleanliness commendable, there are mixed feelings about the value, with a few guests facing issues like room downgrades.

The brand new Mercure at Sukhumvit 24 is a lovely property ......... warm, hospitable and friendly. Offering commendable service and comfort that guests have come to expect from the Accor chain..
While the smiling lads of the concierge carefully unloaded our luggage from the cabs (2), we were served refreshing "welcome drinks" from the lobby bar. A charming young receptionist quickly and expertly took care of the check in. We got a room on the high floor, as requested. The room, though rather compact, is tastefully furnished, functionally laid out. A large double bed, a couple of single sofas, table, chair, writing desk and furniture /furnishings. A flat screen television, coffee/tea maker, safety deposit box etc etc. The bathroom is clean, hot / cold water, with just the right pressure and good quality toiletries..
There are a few dining options, the food is excellent. Breakfast is ample, healthy and one has choice of both Asian and Western cuisine .. I cannot but commend the servers/ waiters /waitresses in the dining area, making a huge effort to serve every guest and doing a great job of it !!
There is a lovely swimming pool (and the Vue Bar) on level 29. Though I make it a point of checking out the bar (and restaurants) at every hotel I stay at, somehow I missed out on the Vue but I had my usual Black Label at the Lobby Bar. The service is excellent..
We stayed at the "peak season", otherwise this hotel is EXCELLENT Value for money ..
Great hotel, exceptional service..
Strongly recommended !!

I stayed at this property for many times including a week at Ibis Sukhuvmit 24, which is in the same building and shares the same staff team.

I stayed at a Suit room, whose room number, ending with xx01. The room is very spacious, especially the bathroom, separated into a shower room and a huge bathtub separated. From the bedroom, I can see Bangkok Sky Train and Emquatier, a luxury department store, which is just 5-minute walk away. Moreover, Emporium, another luxury department is right opposite the property. What a very convenient location, surrounding by everything you need!

Breakfast buffet is always on the top of positive topics about this hotel due to its plenty of delicious Thai Food, apart from the usual continental breakfast. Staff and services are remarkable. too. Particularly, FOs, Saranya, Namtarn, Bibee, June are really nice and helpful. If you are thirsty, ask for Bo at Deli to serve you. She is lively and smiley.

Recommended.

We stayed in a normal room and a Suite. Here is our resume:

+ Location is great. Right next to the BTS station and two big shopping malls and a big 7/11 in the same building
+ Rooms are quite spacious but if you like a lot of space, I recommend to book a suite
+ Rooms are equipped with iron and ironing board

- Breakfast is a shared floor for Mercure & IBIS guests. Since Mercure guests pay more for their stay, there should at least be a difference with higher quality in breakfast, like for example served coffee choices
- The rooms have no storage space whatsoever for clothes. There is not even one drawer.

We will definitely be coming back to this hotel, since there is no better location for this price.

Dear Asienkenner_1, Thank you for choosing Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 and for taking the time to tell us about your experience. It was with pleasure to read that you found our location suitable for your needs and our facilities of a great value. Please note that even we a combo hotel, the guests of both brands are charged the same for breakfast, which is per Mercure brand standards. The rooms are designed with open closet concept, which contributes to the spacious look of the rooms. I am sorry for the inconvenience in this regard. Thank you again for your feedback and I look forward to welcoming you back on another occasion. Sincerely, Nikolay Stoyanov General Manager

I chose this brand new hotel because it was just opened on December 2019. The location is perfect with about 150 meters from BTS Phrom Phong Exit 4. The Emporium Shopping mall is just opposite to the hotel.

The superior room has everything I need for the standard hotel with several power outlets and USB ports to charge your devices.

The bathroom consists of shower with rain shower and a see-through window with a curtain which you can pull it down to increase your privacy.

Wi-Fi internet was okay and stable, but the speed seemed to be limited to just 15 Mbps.

The breakfast serves at The Market restaurant on the 8th floor which is the same restaurant for Ibis guests who stay in the same building. The breakfast was okay with western options and some Thai options.

The A/C in my room was faulty. The A/C was cooling down the room all the time even though the set room temperature was reached. I called the reception to have someone fix it. The technicians arrived, and they acknowledged that the A/C was faulty, but they said they could not fix it since they did not have the spare part to fix such issue. They managed to manually set something in the ceiling unit to help reducing the issue.

However, I got up around 3AM to completely turn off the A/C because it was too cold, and I am not in the mood of calling the reception and waiting for the technician to come fixing the issue again at 3AM.

I think the reception should provide more concrete solution for the A/C issue by changing the room, because their technicians could not resolve the issue at that moment.

It was a disappointment for such a new hotel, but it lacks good maintenance. The sleep quality of my stay was extremely awful. As a loyalty Accor member, I think I should get some compensation for the issue. I made a complaint to Accor customer service for about a week, but they did not even respond or react to my request. It seems they did not even care about the hotel experience of their loyalty guest at all.

Overall, it was a new hotel in good location with reasonable price, but they have very poor service in terms of dealing with room issue and guest's complaint.

Checked in online and requested for a room away from the elevator but when I checked in on July 18, was given a small twin room (2617) instead of the Deluxe king sized bed that I booked. I called the front desk for a room change and they sent the housekeeper to make up the beds and push them together to create the illusion of a king size bed. How bizarre!

Finally went downstairs to get a room change and was given 2614, a king size room with a lovely view of the UOB toilets…oh my, at least it’s a bigger room but surely the front office doesn’t pay attention to details on their customer’s booking, which they really need to improve.

Also, the soundproofing is quite bad…you can hear noises from above and beside your room. After my complaint, they moved me to a downgraded room the next day but forgot to move the fruit basket and uneaten chocolate to my new room.
The downgraded room did not have the same amenities as compared to the deluxe room, such as toothbrush, slippers, etc, although the deluxe room was way dirtier and noisier than the superior room. Can’t believe I had to move three times during my three-day stay and that the manager couldn’t even give an upgrade instead of a downgrade! Imagine paying for something that you can’t even enjoy.
Some of the front desk personnel should be trained to deal with the public as one of them, Amon, gave me an attitude since the moment I checked in. His night shift colleague was very nice though and provided me with rambutans and chocolates after the housekeeping did god-knows-what to my original fruit basket.

I had a restless stay during the last night because of the bad soundproofing and when I called the manager to ask for a refund for the difference between the Deluxe room and the Supreme room, he refused and insisted that he can’t refund the difference because I accepted the room already. He then said that he could have showed me a different room if I didn’t like the new room 2720, which was a lie as he never brought this up during the initial showing. Regretted moving the room from a Deluxe to a cheap Superior room.

This has been the worse experience with Mercure and Accor group…will never stay in this cheap, low standard hotel again where they treat you like a fool for accepting a downgrade.

I ended up cutting my stay short and moving to the Hilton. Only come here if your standards are really, truly low.

Dear nivhana, We sincerely apologize for not being able to provide you with a room away from the elevator during your recent stay with us, resulting in a series of disappointing experiences. We understand the frustration of receiving a different room from your booked Deluxe king-sized bed and facing challenges with room changes. We want to clarify that our hotel runs with exceptionally high occupancy, which could have been the reason for not being able to fulfill your request for a room away from the elevator and the subsequent upgrade. However, this should not have compromised the level of service you deserve, and we deeply regret any inconveniences caused. Our team deeply regrets the oversight in not fulfilling your request and the inconvenience caused by the alternative arrangement of pushing the beds together. We acknowledge that these situations were far from ideal and are committed to improving our attention to detail when handling guest bookings. We also apologize for the soundproofing issues you experienced and the inconvenience of moving rooms multiple times. This is not the level of service we strive to provide, and your feedback will be taken into consideration to enhance the overall guest experience. Furthermore, we apologize for the inconsistencies in amenities between the rooms. It is our responsibility to ensure that all our guests enjoy the same level of comfort and amenities, regardless of the room category. We deeply regret any misunderstandings or lapses in communication with our front desk personnel. Additional training will be conducted to ensure that our team members interact with our guests professionally and courteously at all times. Your feedback is essential to us, and we sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. We truly hope you will give us another chance to provide you with the exceptional experience we aspire to deliver. If you decide to give us another opportunity, please feel free to reach out to me directly, and I will personally ensure your stay is nothing short of outstanding. Once again, we apologize for the inconveniences you faced and thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to restore your trust in our hotel and the Accor group. Kind regards, Nikolay Stoyanov General Manager

This hotel is new. Thus, the facilities, in the rooms are generally new and well kept.
Unfortunately, the service here cannot match the quality of the rooms.
Calls to the reception takes more than one call to have them pick up the phone.
I had asked for toothbrush, bedroom slippers - which were not provided in the room - plus,
extra pillows, body wash, shampoo. The receptionist sounded impatient and made me feel like
i was a free-loader!
The items did not arrive till one hour later…and this was after a follow up call to them to ask them when they were to deliver the items.
The reception was surprised that the items were not delivered as she asked,”they have not sent the items?”
As we are under quarantine, we ordered Grabfood…which was delivered but we had to, once again, call the front desk to ask them to have the food sent up.
Once again, had to call them 5x before they decided to pick up the phone.
I am not a nuisance guest as I was just calling asking for the basic items.
Thank goodness I am only staying for one night!
Would not recommend unless you are OK with living with the bare necessities.

We just checked into this hotel on 25 March 23. 2 rooms were booked via the Accor site, 1 a superior king size bed and the other is a superior twin bed. Upon check-in, the bed in the room looks small, like a queen or single superior size. I have stayed in Pullman Bangkok and the king size bed is really king size bed. Spoke to the front desk manager and he said all the room king size, the bed is the size we have in our room. Very disappointed as this is below the international king size bed that we know of. It’s disappointing as I am also celebrating my birthday this stay. Posting this review here to let others know when you visited their website, the king size bed shown is not the usual international king size bed. Also our bathroom supposed to have a glass divider as shown on their website to prevent water to spill to the basin area but ours do not have one. Lastly, you have to request for tooth brush and paste as it is not provided in the room. Overall this hotel does not live up to the standard in terms of service and facilities. Think twice before booking.

Dear Richard, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that you were disappointed with certain aspects of your stay, and we appreciate your feedback. Different countries have different interpretation of king size. However, I would like to clarify and assure you that the size of the bed in our superior room is standard and meets both industry and local standards for king size. Our king size bed are 7ft long by 6 ft wide. Base from your assumption and expectation from another hotel, I believe it is unfair and irrational to compare our hotel to other upper brand and expect the same bed size across the industry. Moreover, I understand that you were requesting a connecting room and we did our best to allocate your rooms based on your preferences, availability, and booking information. The room you were allocated does not have a glass divider as it a specific feature of this room category. Nevertheless, we did provide you the option for a room change which you declined. We apologize if this was not communicated to you prior to your stay. As for the room amenities setup, we follow the Mercure brand standard, however if you require any additional amenities, our team will be more than happy to provide. Additionally, you can request them at the front office desk round the clock. We appreciate your feedback and take it very seriously. However, for the Trip Advisor audience reading this response, we strongly believe that your review unfairly portrays our hotel and does not accurately reflect the quality of our service and facilities. We hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future and giving us the opportunity to provide you with a more seamless and enjoyable experience. Sincerely, Cedrix Cornet Executive Assistant Manager

Conveniently and very centrally located. The conceirge and reception team is amazing. Definitely my home away from home when in Bangkok.

I like the location as its a neighbourhood I am very familiar with and with Mecure just across the road from the back door to the Emporium mall, it really is unbeatable.

However, as Mecure shares a same building with the budget Ibis (the lifts are also the same for guests at both hotels, with lower floors for Ibis and upper floors for Mecure) I’m still a bit confused if it’s worth it to pay more to stay at the Mecure compared to Ibis. Because this Mecure is not as nice as some of the other Mecure I had stayed in France, the sightly bigger rooms may not do much for a single traveller.

Granted Ibis guests cannot access the pool (I think) but the small rooftop pool is not exactly spectacular. The bed is comfortable and firm and my entry level room has only a standing shower. The room has instant coffee and made me feel like I am having Ibis amenities anyway, which adds to the confusion over the positioning of the Mecure.

If its purely location, this hotel is solid, but as its a dual branded property, and the room amenities (other than size) feeling Ibis, I think I will probable stay at Ibis downstairs in future.

Arrived at the hotel an hour before check-in and was told that the room I requested (Deluxe Twin away from the elevator) was still unavailable as some guests decided to stay in the room a bit longer. Was told that I could only get the room after 3pm to 4pm. Check-in only had one receptionist and one trainee who really didn’t do much but just stared at guests. Think they were understaffed…the concierge were pretty friendly.

I finally checked in after 6pm as we came back from a shopping trip and we were ushered to a room away from the elevator but next to the housekeeping room, which meant we heard banging and other noises in the morning.

The room was clean and spotless…loved the rain shower and water pressure! The view from the room was nothing special as it was directly facing the Hilton and Skyview was on the right…beware that on weekends, there may be some bass noise from the neighboring complex.

In conclusion, this Mercure wasn’t too bad in terms of location and rooms but service could be improved in terms of heeding the guest’s room choice.
Also, have emailed them twice regarding the official invoice and a missing charger but they have yet to respond to those emails.

Phrong Phong train station is less than 200 m away from the hotel. You can use the Emporium mall entrance opposite the hotel and via M floor with direct access to the BTS station.
