Phi Centre was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. It is a gem hidden in plain sight and worth every penny. My boyfriend and I were looking for something to do on our last day in Montreal and after reading tripadvisor reviews we decided to give the HUM(AI)N exhibit at Phi a shot - it was fantastic! I've never experienced virtual reality before and was absolutely blown away by the different stories/scenes. You are immersed in a variety of scenarios that are impossible to imagine; one is a gymnasium with balls bouncing everywhere while a puppet sings and another can only be described as street punk. And the others.... well, best to see what happens for yourself! Go! One of most awesome things I have ever done and would love to do again!!

Visited the Humain exhibit with seven stations. Each was very engaging. The Emergence experience was the most interesting to me. A lot of virtual reality experiences, which is not for everyone. Those who suffer from motion sickness might find it hard to sit through some of the experiences, but I enjoyed every one of them!

Really cool museum with a few AI’s and some VR experiences. Give yourself ~2 hours to do the whole thing. Some of the VR videos are lengthy, so check the booklet ahead of time so you know which ones are longer, and try to do those first (each one only has 2-4 headsets. Also make sure you’re good with VR things before going. I’m glad my husband was working and couldn’t come with me, he’s very sensitive to 3D-type things and probably would’ve gotten nauseous for some of the VR. I’m usually even good with 3D and VR, but I even got nauseous from one (the one with the spinning chairs that has a warning for sensitive content; it wasn’t the sensitive content that got me, but rather the blurry style of the video). Overall great experience, will recommend to any friends that visit Montréal!

Le centre Phi présentait l’expo Yoko O. ainsi que Yoko. O et John Lennon quand j’étais à Montréal. Un délice de créativité, de sensibilité, de sensualité. J’ai adoré, à l’heure où j’écris, elle y est encore. Allez-y. Écoutez, voyez, respirez, ressentez mais aussi jouez, laissez-vous porter.

I was surprised at how many people I’ve talked to that are unaware of this hidden treasure in Old Montreal. I’ve been attending events at the Phi Center in the Old Port for 3+ years now and it is an amazing venue for experiencing many different types of “artsy” events. Phi events that I have attended have included: art exhibitions, virtual reality shows (Bjork), music concerts (numerous), avante garde art film screenings (many), a video shoot, and more. It’s situated in a beautifully restored four-storey building in Old Montreal and includes numerous exhibition spaces and theatres. There’s an interesting souvenir boutique just off the main lobby and the staff I’ve dealt with have always been exceptionally friendly and helpful. I advise anyone interested in experiencing a happening and eclectic “arts and culture” venue to check out the Phi Centre in Old Montreal. You won’t regret it.

We went to see the immersive VR theatrical experience The Horrifically Real Virtuality and loved it. Hard to find the words to describe. The centre is really progressive and high tech. Love how the programme is different and experimental but with a trendy twist. Try it.

Went to a virtual reality exhibit with many separate experiences. The "Spheres" about space was by far the best one. It was absolutely incredible!! You have about 3 hours with your ticket and, in that time, you should be able to get most of the experiences done. It's amazing but can be tiring and some experiences are better than others.

Mercredi 26 decembre 2018, je suis allé voir la projection Cinéma VR avec les films L’île des morts, Alteration, Half Life. Mauvaise experience, la projection etait floue et pixelisée dans l'appareil et le son est de qualité tres mediocre. Dommage!

Nous avons vu le programme de réalité virtuelle, "Rêve des mondes" ; ce fut décevant, non du fait des documentaires mais du fait du matériel; en effet nous voyions flou et le son était très moyen; dommage car cela était une expérience spéciale; je ne suis pas une touriste, je suis montréalaise

There are stairs to go up as it is on the first floor. I am not sure if there is a lift. You sit down to watch the VR films.
